Non spoiler Rise of the Resistance Questions

@yulilin3 you are doing great, thank you so much.

So do I have this right
  1. You wait in line like all other rides and go through a themed queue line
  2. You get loaded into a trackless vehicle
  3. This vehicle passes life size props, then stops at various screens
  4. At one portion when the vehicle stops at a screen, it locks into a turn table and you get moved about, like in Star Tours
  5. At one portion the vehicle goes down a ramp, which gives the drop

Also don't really want to do spoilers here, so I'll be vague...

1) Yes.
2) Eventually, after other parts that are far beyond a themed line.
3) Sort of... many things real, not many screens.
5) No ramp (comes before 4)
4) Yes but super brief (as is the drop).

Does this ride give people motion sickness? My mother has problems with some rides such as Star Tours, Mission Space, Forbidden Journey at Universal, etc.
Can someone give a comparison of what ride(a) RotR is similar to in terms of motion sickness, speed, and drops? Wanna see if my wife can handle this. She can do star tours and soarin at most.

I get motion sickness and won’t ride Star Tours, Mission Space, most roller coasters and Flight of Passage. I don’t have any trouble with Soarin, Test Track or Alien Spinning Saucers. And I didn’t have any problems with this ride.

There was a very brief section of simulator flying that was the only time I felt a little motion sickness but it was very short. I think if someone closes their eyes then they would be fine for those few seconds.

Rise of the Resistance is more than a ride, it is an experience that really can’t be compared to anything else without spoilers.

Do you think Disney would allow someone to do the ride up to the trackless vehicle part? My Dad is very sensitive to motion and feels he should not ride that vehicle, but he really does not want to be completely left out. Does anyone know if there might be the option of taking a chicken exit at this point of the ride before boarding the final vehicle? He really wants to ride, but if his motion sickness is triggered he is out for the whole day!

I think there is that option, a woman who was in my vehicle very nearly took that option before I convinced her she could handle it (she was very happy after she had stayed in). But it seemed like they were about to let her just exit if she wanted.

However it sure seems like he could handle what little motion there really is in ROTR. It's really mild.

Thank you. Good to know that he would be able to skip the trackless vehicle if he wants to. I will also tell him that it is fairly mild. He doesn't mind spoilers so I will also suggest that he watch a point of view ride so he can make an informed decision. I just have to tell him to do it when I am not around because I don't want to know all before I ride!

Does Rise of the Resistance have an in-ride photo?

A little advice about pictures for this ride. Unless ur going to be riding this more than once, shut ur phone off and put it away. We only done it once and It was so awesome and I took so many pictures but as soon as the ride was over, I really regretted taking pics cause even though I seen everything, I still missed it, I wasn't in the moment and just taking it in and living the story. So from my experience, if u want pics then u need to ride it twice and take pics on ur 2nd ride but for the 1st time, put ur phone away and just sit back and really experience and enjoy it to its fullest. I'm actually thinking about changing my extra day from AK to HS just to ride it again without taking pics. Just my opinion though.
