Non-preferred rooms in preferred buildings?

I read somewhere that some of the preferred buildings at Pop Century have non-preferred rooms available. We would love to stay in one of the 50s buildings again, but those are now preferred buildings. Are there perhaps some rooms that don't have a view of the lake or pool that are still considered non-referred, where we could save $10 a night?

Yes, once upon a time all of the 60s was preferred. Now that is changed and only part of the 60s, 50s and 70s are preferred. Pretty much the half of the building closer to the food court. So in the 50s on one side of Lady/Tramp is preferred and on the other side is regular. Same goes for the 60s. On the front side of Baloo is preferred and on the other side it is not. Our last time at Pop (Feb 07) we were in the 60s building facing the baby pool, but on the other side of Mowgli, so it was not preferred. It was a great location. So you can call and ask to be in the 50s section and they will try to get you in there, but in the non-preferred area. All of the building with the junkbox is non-preferred too.

Oh, that is just what I needed to know. Thank you SO MUCH!! I talked to a CM at CRO the other day and she didn't seem to know what I was talking about.
Since you seem familiar with the buildings at Pop, which would you say was closer to the food court - the 80's facing the food court, or the 50's facing the lake? I remember having to park quite a distance from the 50's Tramp building. If we stayed in the 80's would they let us park in the 90's lot, which seems closer? Thanks for any suggestions you might have.

We stayed at Pop 5/25-6/2, stayed in 50's building 3 (Tramp building), standard room. We were in room 3117 facing the lake, at the end of the building near the jukebox building.. It was only a few minute walk to the food court/bus stop, not bad at all.

You can park in whatever lot you want, they don't care.

DH and I stayed in the 80's building 7 (I think, the one with Roger Rabbit) in February and it seemed really far from anything.

If you get a CM that doesn't know, just thank them and call back. I requested 50's lakeview and they were fine with that.

Thanks, BigBabyBlues,
That helps clarify things. We stayed in the lakeside 50's Tramp bldg last Jan and were able to see a lot of Illuminations fireworks from the 3rd floor, and it was indeed a very short walk to the food court.

So, is this considered 'Non-preferred"?

Yay for Willcad! Thanks, Brad. Is this the same Brad who lurks around the PassPorter trivia chats on Sunday night? Just wondering.
