Non Park Days

We are planning a trip for 9 days in May with a 3 year old and an infant. We plan to stay in a condo at Windsor Hills or somewhere like Holiday Inn Orange Lake--planning to get that booked next week.

We will only be doing 3 days in the parks. What are some other things you like to do in the area with little ones that age? We don't want to buy other expensive theme park tickets, but would be open to less expensive things to do. We've also talked about spending 4 days around Sarasota/Siesta Key and 5 days in Orlando, but it might be nice to just unpack and stock the kitchen once with little ones.

Personally I would probably do more days once you get past 4 days the pricing per add'l day is fairly low. With a two young ones it would allow you to split days between park and pool etc at Condo. I think the difference between 4 and 5 days is 20 bucks. Seems whenever we would have non park days we would spend a good amount on other things that didn't give us the same value.

I'm sure others will give you ideas based on your parameters.

I would prefer to do more days in the park but we are using some 3 day passes we already have and days cannot be added on like with regular park tickets

Crayola Experience is great for an afternoon
Spend a day in Fort Wilderness-- rent a surrey bike or golf cart, go to the evening campfire and make s'mores
We happened upon a drum circle at AKL one night after dining at Sanaa, super fun. Call and verify if it still happens,
Watch MK fireworks from a monorail resort-- Contemporary has a great balcony
Get discounted tickets to Legoland

Showcase of Citrus is a fun stop. You can taste citrus in their store and wonder through the trees. Valencia oranges should be ripe in May.

Harry P Leu Gardens is a great place for a stroll. It costs $10 for adults, but kids four and under are free.

Head to Celebration to walk around the lake before grabbing some ice cream at Kilwins.

Visit animal kingdom lodge to look at the animals. Evenings are best.

Watch the buskers perform in the evening at the Boardwalk.

There should be activities your resort that are geared toward children.

How do you get $35 legoland tickets?

Do a google search for 2017 Florida PTA tickets. Join the PTA for $10 (if you're worried), but it's unnecessary. 3 things about these tickets. They must be bought over 48 hours before desired use, they must be used on the day you select, and they are not refundable. So, I usually buy them 4-5 days prior after I see the weather and know I'm going...

Gatorland is a fun and inexpensive attraction. Bring swimsuits for the kids because they have a really nice splash park inside. A free option is visiting Kissimmee Lakefront Park. It has a nice playground, splash pad and runs quite a way along Lake Toho. Plenty of nature watching.
