Non Park Day Ideas?

On one of our non-park days, we have breakfast/brunch reservations at Chef Mickeys. I thought before heading back to our hotel for some pool time it would be fun to ride the monorail and take a boat ride to or from MK. So the current idea is to take the monorail from CR to the GF (because I've wanted to see it from the inside since it opened in the 80s), take the boat to MK and then monorail back to the CR to pick up our car. Or would is make more sense to take the boat from CR to MK, then boat to GF, then monorail back to CR? What's the better boat ride?

Any other low pressure, free/low cost activities that are convenient to the CR for our non-park day?

Along the same lines, DH and I might be able to sneak away from the kids and grandparents that night for a quick date. Which would you recommend, Electrical Water Pageant or strolling the Boardwalk? DTD is out because of the parking situation.

We are staying at Bonnet Creek so Disney transportation is not an option for us. We have a car though.

Fort Wilderness campground has tons of low cost activities a boat ride away from CR. I would also check with each resort to see their activities each day. You do not need to be staying at any resort to participate in their daily activities other than the pool.
I would recommend Boardwalk. First if you eat at the BW, you can't really go wrong. Night time/evening entertainment through out the BW and Jellyrolls! You can also watch Epcot fireworks from the bridge near the BW resort if you are late enough.

Note there is no boat between CR to MK. It's close enough to walk. We like resort hopping. I would monorail over to GF (maybe even stop at Polynesian too). Then you could boat back to MK, walk to CR. Note that the boat between GF and MK also stops at Poly.

I love to resort hop and even though you aren't staying on site you can still use the Disney transportation to get around. Hop the monorail and visit GF, Poly and CR, then hop on the boat to WL. Take a bus from MK to AKL and tour it, well worth it. Go to Boardwalk and walk around the lake, popping in BW, YC and BC.

I would take the monorail from CM and resort hop. The Grand and the Poly are fun to just stoll through, and there is plenty to see. You could also hop on a boat when you get to teh MK stop, and ride to WIlderness Lodge, and checck that one out too, or take the boat to Fort WIlderness. That is a really nice ride as well.

Date Night??? You could do two things, go to the Boardwalk, and enjoy. There are plenty of places to eat, and you could have a cocktail at the Boardwalk Inn, or go to Jellyrolls. The Boardwalk is really nice at night.

Or...you could go back to the monorail resorts. Have dinner at any one of them, and then find a nice spot to have a cocktail and watch Wishes from either on of the beaches or from the porch at Narcoosses. Anyone can watch from there. It has been a while since I was at the Poly at night, but I remember my hisband and I sitting on the beach while my granddaughter played in the sand, and watching the Electric Light Parade on the lake. The view was really good.
