We are traveling with 10 family members in December. Only 3 family members have MDE. Some have smart phones. Many are elderly and do not even have a smart phone and are not tech savvy. If they are in the parks with out one of our family members than can use Mobile Order for them ... will they still be able to order quick service food while they are in the parks? We can’t guarantee that one of us will be with them at all times to help them order. Trying to explain the Mobile order to one of my elderly family members got her all nervous and panicky. Trying to make it less stressful for everyone. Appreciate all of your tips and advice in advance. It is between myself and 1 other relative to keep everything together.
Thank You in advance!

There is 1 cast member outside most quick service places to help place orders but it might get a long line and be a long wait. Even while using mobile order sometimes the wait can be upwords to an hour with the new time slot system.

Yes. There will be at least one cash register open for those who cannot mobile order for a variety of reasons (no smart phone, allergies...prefer to pay cash).

The only place that refused to take our money in Feb when we couldn't use mobile ordering was Woody's Lunch Box. Ticked me off enough that I have no desire to eat there in the future.

Thanks everyone for the replies... at least they will have options. Appreciate the help.

PP noted that there will be at least one cash register open in each restaurant. But there will be a cast member outside the door whose job it is to encourage people to use mobile order. There have been reports that some cast members have told people that they absolutely cannot eat at that restaurant if they cannot use mobile order. I think you should warn your family members about this. If they are nervous about the whole thing and a cast member tells them that, they might get upset if they had no advance warning that it might happen. They might want to plan ahead as to what they will do if this happens. (Politely leave? Take names so that they can tell Disney that further traning is needed? Ask for a manager?)

Also, there are some restaurants and kiosks that do not take mobile order. You might want to find out which ones those are, and tell your family members. That might give them a level of comfort.

One more thought - if a family member has a smart phone and has MDE on it, but it nervous about using movile order -- would a tech savvy family member be with them at the beginning of the day, to help them place the order? That way, all they need to do is hit the "I'm here" when they get to the restaurant. I would think that the cast member at the door could help them with that part.

This makes sense because Woody's Lunch box typically has at least a 1-2 hour wait on mobile order. Being able to just come in and order in person would essentially be cutting in line.

I would have been happy to order and come back later. We were allowed to do that elsewhere. We could not use mobile order. Our visa gift cards we had purchased to save for the trip would not, even with concierge help, connect to the app. I don't want a toasted cheese sandwich enough to deal with a place that doesn't want my money. I won't be dealing with them in the future, there are other places to eat.

My mother, God love her, has a flip phone. & refuses technology. She found someone to order from randomly here & there (ie: Pecos, Friar’s) when she was off on her own without use & the DME app.

I'm hoping once disney starts making money if they are gonna continue this route they turn the old fast pass kiosks into mobile order kiosks.
