We're members at VWL and would like to eat at CA Grill with some non-member friends on our next trip. Can we get them into TotW after dinner? We'll have 5 non-member friends, plus us 2: 7 total. And we WILL be drinking! :lmao:

From The new Portable Perks.

Members and those in their traveling party who are staying on that Member’s reservation at any Disney-owned-and-operated hotel at Walt Disney World Resort may access Top of the World Lounge at Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort through December 29, 2014. Refer to DVCMember.com for full offer guidelines.

You and your friends staying using your membership can go to the lounge. Those not staying with you or on your points are not included.

You may just want to stay at the California Grill and imbibe there. And go to their rooftop to see the fireworks.

Can you see the fireworks while having dinner at California Grill? I have reservations for late dinner in May and I was curious if we would be able to see them while dining or if we have to move to the rooftop.

It probably depends on where your table is located.

They always dim the lights for wishes. They also have 2 rooftops to watch it from.

Saw a picture on the Disney website of a view from a building overlooking fireworks...wondered if it was TOtW

Depending on the cast member who grants access to TOTW and also on the crowd level at that time, they may let your entire group up. I've never done this personally, but have heard of others who were permitted up with a group containing "non-members" staying on a separate reservation. Worst that happens is they shoot down your request, but if you really want to give it a crack, I say go for it. Just don't "plan" on it and have a backup spot in mind (i.e. back up to CG or perhaps a monorail ride over to the bar @ Ohana - Poly, etc.).
