Non-members and waitlist

if you sell your DVC contract, all reservations are immediately canceled.

if you are renting from a DVC owner, they have the option of working with you on a waitlist or not putting up with the hassle and uncertainty.

Do you have to be a current DVC member to be on a waitlist?

It depends on what waitlist you're talking about. To waitlist a room reservation, yes, you need to be a member. If you want to go on a sales waitlist for one of the sold-out resorts, you don't need to be a member. Just call the DVC sales number, tell them you want to buy at whichever resort you want, and they'll assign you a guide who will put you on the waitlist, after possibly trying to sell you on VGF, AKV, or Aulani. :)

I must be confused, I thought a waitlist is when you call DVC direct and ask for a certain amount of points with a certain UY, and they get back to you when they find what you're looking for and you're next on the list.

We must have been posting at the same time, this answers my question. Thanks!
