I was wondering if you do not live in the LA area (however you wish to define it) and still have annual passes, where do you live and how often do you get to the parks?

We're in northern San Diego, takes about 1 hour 15 minutes to get there, so not too bad really. We get there about once a month, sometimes more if there are special things going on.

I'm in Northern California near Berkeley. I have a deluxe and usually go 3 times a year for 3-4 days each time.

Washington State. In the past our trips have been once a year for long periods of time. Now kind of changing to five day trips. I usually get to go twice a year.

I'm in Michigan (but originally from California) & when my husband and I found we had three California trips planned within 12 months to visit family & friends I decided to save up and get an annual pass. This is, so far, a one time thing, I don't do this every year, but if ever I had another 12 month period with three trips scheduled I would definitely consider getting an AP again!

I live in NorCal, near Sacramento, and last year was my first year with an AP. I went five times this past year on my AP: 3 solo trips, once with my mom and once with my DS8. I can't take much time off work so most trips are 2-3 days each. I also said that this was a one time thing, but I will be there tomorrow and will be getting another one...YAY!

We live in Seattle and are AP holders. We make it down about 4 times/year. My husband's family is in So Cal, so we visit them during our trips as well. I also have friends that live in the area, and we all team up for girls trips about once a year at Disneyland.

We live in Northern California. I have the DL / WDW annual pass. Good for both places. We do the Run Disney races in both parks so it makes sense for us.

I live in Utah, and had an annual pass one year. Originally I planned on going only twice (once in spring and once for Halloween time, both times with friends), but ended up adding two more trips (once as a pick-me-up trip with my sister, as we had both gotten laid off at the same time and needed a pick-me-up, and once as a big family trip), so I went four times that year. This was when a Deluxe AP was $299, though. Now that's it's twice as much I don't think I'll ever get one again unless I actually move to LA.

Funny, we also said it was a one time thing, getting ready to purchase my fourth. Last year spring break, my daughter and I had AP's, husband and son did not. We ended up upgrading them, but before upgrading, they couldn't handle having "paper" tickets after being spoiled with AP's. LOL :yay:

I live in the Seattle area. We don't currently have AP's, and might not ever again with the way prices have increased. But, we have in the last 10 years or so, had passes at 3 different times. If we know we want to go for 2 trips, at 5 days, the pass pays for itself. The year of the 50th celebration I think I made it 4 times on that pass. I wish that they would let out of state people make monthly payments like they do CA residents. I would totally have one if that was the case.

edit: actually with current prices the lowest level AP breaks even at two 3 days trips. Hoppers would be about $590, AP is $599, and you get the 10% discount on purchases.

We live in Phoenix.

My son and I have entered the park 16 times. My husband has entered 10. We have at least 2, if not 3, more short trips planned before they expire in November. We have Deluxe but I upgraded to Signature for PhotoPass.

We (5 of us) live near Modesto, CA. We got AP for the 14-15 season. We figure if we're planning two 5 day trips about a year apart, we might as well get the AP vs two 5 day hoppers. We then turned those 5 day trips into 6-7 day trips. We also went for 3 days around Dapper Days in 2015, went down for a quick one day trip with friends in March, went down for a friends wedding and spent 2 days and a partial Sunday there, and then I got called down for work so we went again. We went a lot that year. I think we were in park (full and partial days) 27 days.

Now we've got another year of APs coming in November. We know we'll be there 7 days this time around. We've also planned a trip for late Feb including a stay at Great Wolf Lodge. And we'll be going back again in the fall. We're thinking maybe October, though I hate having to work around the Halloween Parties. Either way, we have at least 3 trips we know we'll do on this pass. And who know what the summer may bring.

We live in Phoenix and just bought our very first APs two weeks ago - one Signature and two Deluxe. Since the fireworks were cancelled almost every evening we were there, we're going to stop on our way to San Diego over Labor Day weekend - just for the afternoon/evening, which is an unimaginable luxury! Then we'll be there for several days during DD8's fall school break in October to experience Halloween, a quick visit in early December to experience Christmas, and then at least a few days during spring break and before our passes expire at the end of June. Normally, we tour commando-style since our time is limited to the number of days on our tickets. With APs, we'll be able to be a lot more relaxed with it.

I live in Denver. I'm planning 3 trips equaling 12 days over the next year. When you throw in parking, food and merch discounts and PhotoPass it's more than worth it.

Yep, that's it totally. We don't feel like we have to squeeze everything in - in just 3 days (our normal visit) now because we know we'll be back. Now, come November I might cry because "Year of Disney" will be over. But we'll probably do it again in a couple of years when Star Wars Land is open.

We are in Oregon and had APs last year. We ended up taking 3 trips totalling 17 days. We LOVED it! If you can plan at least two trips with them, i think its worth it with your discounts.

We live in Washington state. Last year we made a reservation error that ended up having us in the parks for 6 days. I found that I could buy a Deluxe AP (before the increase..) and I would actually save money by not having to buy a 1 day ticket (for that 6th day) and if we return for another annual trip within a year, it would save us about $400. And that doesn't include all the discounts we get - and we eat a lot in the parks and buy a fair amount of junk.
After the price increase last year, I don't know if it still would save any money to make two annual trips on an AP. Obviously Disney figured that one out
