Hi,

I usually hang out on resorts board and didn't even know this board existed. We are thinking about making a quick weekend trip for the princess half. I was interested in staying at the beach club but I know it's not a host hotel. Will that be a nightmare the morning of the race if I have to take a cab? If you stay at a monorail resort do they start running the monorail super early the day of the 1/2 marathon.

Thanks so much for your help!. I am trying to figure out what I am doing.

Starting with the monorail resort questions first....

The only monorail resort with service for the race would be the Poly and then its a walk from the Poly to the TTC.. Do not expect to have service from either the GF or CR/BLT prior to the race. It does not mean that a local train will not run early enough to get you to the start line just as the gun is going off but in all actuality you would be trusting your race to luck.

The above could change IF WDW decides to showcase one of the other resorts as a host resort. In the event one of the other monorail resorts is added in the last few weeks; not very likely.

As far as staying at the BCV (or even one of the other monorail resorts) I am betting that if you came down to the concierge area of the front lobby you could split a cab. Make sure to be out in the earlier part of the transportation hour. Even if that is not possible, you can get to the staging area with few issues as long as you get out early. The crowds are not near as bad as the January crowds.

 See you made it over here! You'll find lot's of great information on the races on this board!

Thanks!! If I stayed at the GF and walked over to the Poly would the monorail only take me TTC and then would I have to catch a bus or would I be able to switch monorails like you usually can and take it all the way to Epcot? Hope that made sense.

Never thought about the walk from GF to Poly. Sure. I would scope out where to head at the poly to walk from the main building to the TTC. It is not a far walk but for me seems confusing the first time you make the walk.

Do you think the monorail will be running from TTC to Epcot then? Thx!

Since the Poly is a host resort then the TTC/Epcot loop would be running. In the event the mouse decides to not run the monorail they would have bussing to the start.
