You couldn't make ahead, but my SIL made beautiful floating candles in jars this year. She filled with water, dropped in a small branch from an evergreen tree, floated some cranberries on top, then used a tea light. So pretty!

Love jar -- notes of what you love about that person and if from the younger set, pictures of what they love about that person or love to do with that person. We did this last year with jam jars and it was hilarious as DD insisted on writing her own and told her grandma that she was good at "raping" presents. LOL!

Conversation jar -- you can find some ideas for this by googling it. Basically you put in questions that can start a conversation at the dinner table. Things like "if you could invent anything you wanted, what would you invent and why?". We're doing that this Christmas.

Garden jar -- seeds, gloves, etc.

Tea time -- tea, sugar packets, sugar swizzle sticks or honey sticks, lemon, etc.

How about a survival kit? HS, mom/dad, work, etc. You can put different items in there depending on what they are surviving. Like work can be instant coffee, gum, mints, snack item, pen, iTunes GC for music.

I've knit a scarf where the width is the height of the jar, rolled it up and put it in there.

Wonderful ideas everyone!
I'm making a list and off to the store I go tomorrow.
Thank-you for all of your suggestions.

So I have one Jar left to make
it's a "Warm Wishes Jar"
I am just waiting for winter mitts to hit the store shelves.
I found this label online

So all of my "special person's ( daughter- inlaw) xmas gifts are almost done. I think she is going to love them.

Warm Wishes Jar ingredients:
:mitts
:hand warmers
:chap stick / EOS lip balm
:hot-chocolate pouch/ apple cider
:Hand cream
:Kozy socks/slippers

She loves Disney so...........
I made a special Mickey Mouse cheese coupon tag and added a grocery store gift card to go with a
cheese board I bought. The board was on sale and is well made.
I found a new beautiful old fashioned Picnic Basket and I'm filling it with: lots of goodies.
Many summer accessories are on sale right now.

I made a "Button Jar" and strung buttons on a piece of ribbon and tied it around the lid,,then hot glued a bunch of buttons on the top of the lid.
I made a "Tea Jar" and attached a small tea strainer to the jar.
I made a "Emergency Travel Jar' and included a Starbucks coffee Gift Card.
I made a "Bath Salts Jar' and tied a small metal scoop to the side.
I made a " Manicure In A Jar' and taped a bath puff to the top and tied with an organza ribbon.
Soon to be made "Warm Wishes Jar"

Thanks again for everyone's ideas.
Hugs
Mel

I made a bath salts thing last year (will try to post a pic later). People really liked them. They were SO easy.

Essential oil (or scent)
Epson salt
Baking soda
Food color

Mix together until blended and leave out for 24 hours to dry thoroughly.

I will look up the exact ingredients list later but they are a hit and don't require food or spoiling.

These are all great ideas! I like the Baking Jar for someone who likes to bake.

Set of mini cookie cutters, measuring spoons, and pinch bowls.
