I went to the WDW website (ok again:lmao:) to check prices for my imaginary trip :lmao: (well you never know) anyhow I discovered that I could add the non-expiration to our 7 day base ticket for $166.14 total (2 adults + 1 kid) which means if we were to go, we could use 4 days worth of tix, then still have 3 days left for next year for only $166 dollars. If anyone else is like me, and likes to spend time at the resort and not go non-stop this might be a way to get tickets for next year. You can add up to 10 days, but it would cost more us like $384 - still, a lot cheaper than buying 2 sets of tickets each year, plus they don't expire so you wouldn't even need to go next year but at some future date. Anyhow, I got so excited when I saw this, that I wanted to share. To summarize here are the costs to add the no expire based on 1 adult ticket:
10 day ticket $+132.06
9 Day Ticket $+95.85
8 Day Ticket $+80.94
7 Day Ticket $+55.38

We purchased the non-expiring option last year and we'll be using the remaining tickets this coming January. The only disadvantages is that you don't have a need to purchase a "package" for your next trip. So you miss out on any package deals and cannot add the dining plan.

We just do the math and even when we have tickets already- it's often cheaper to buy a package deal- like for free dining. The package deals sometimes allow you to just buy a 1 day ticket. For free DDP, buying the family a 1 day ticket is cheaper than paying for the DDP. Granted-with these newe 5/2 and 4/3 deals it wouldn't work.

That's what we have done for our after Thanksgiving trip.
We have non expiring tickets (6 days left from 10) from our March trip so we booked with free DDP and 1 day base ticket per person at POFQ. So with using 3 of the non expiring and 1 base ticket we will still have 3 tickets for the next trip.
As stated above the new 5/2 and 4/3 plans are different.

non-expiring tickets are golden to me...you can use them one day at a time...so if you will be in tthe Orlando area for business and only have a day to visit parks, you get a great deal using old tickets. You can also add onthe water park feature - and use those over time. I've actually never done the water parks...but I have a few tickets when I do decide to check them out!:lmao: Someday I'll venture over to see the shark tank at TL. I have used pluses to go to DQ, and non-expiring pluses are the way to go.
