(if this is in the wrong place, i'm sorry)

I'm going to Disney World with boyfriend in a couple of months, we will be staying for 3 weeks and hiring a car (he's driving, i can't) We want to do some of the smaller attractions around Orlando, Gatorland, Holy experience, Titanic Museam, etc. (anything that isn't part of the Disney or the universal/seaworld groups)

Are there any attractions that you've done that you'd reccomend or not?

There's a US/IOA board here - you might try your questions there.

The Orlando hotels and Attractions board might also be a good spot for some of the "lesser attractions" in the area.

I've did Ripley's a couple years ago and it's kinda interesting. Could maybe spend a couple hours there, depending on how much you like to stop and read things.

Beyond that, any of the other smaller things to do around the area, my info is WAY dated. I did a bunch of them back in the 90's, and haven't had a chance to do much recently, so I don't even know what's still there or worth doing.

I've moved this thread to the Orlando Hotels and Attractions board. :)

There's other stuff but it depends on how far you want to drive. Silver Springs, Weeki Wachee, Busch Gardens Tampa, Ybor City (nightlife), Kennedy Space Center, Cocoa Beach, Daytona Beach and the Speedway.

IN Orlando, you could check out Downtown Orlando and some if its attractions. There's a decent nightlife there as well. There's Leu Gardens for a botanical sort of thing... but here's a list of 210 things to do in the area.

I-Drive has a nice strip of stuff to do, mostly nightlife, shopping, and dining. There's a Jellyrolls type place called Howl At The Moon with dueling pianos, the IceBar (which is a bar made of ice), skyventure (one of those skydiving simulators which is a giant fan under you.). WonderWorks and Ripleys, and Pointe Orlando.

You could see if there are any conventions going on at the Orange County Convention center, Star Wars is there right now.

Old Town is over on 192 and they have classic car shows and such.

Ripleys is fun, and supprisingly bigger than it looks,
the Pirate gold just up the road is great too

would definitely recommend Gatorland, so scary, but alot of fun

There are several dinner shows around town. I've done Sleuth's(murder mystery) and Capone's(speakeasy/gangster show) and both are good. There's also Medieval Times and Pirates.

i thought old town w/cars and speakeasy closed....(not sure)

anyway just order an orlando magic card and they send a big brochure envelope..(to be current) we recently did gatorland and had a balll.... as long as you know it's a touristy place it's fine we spent most of the day there... fed them hot dogs and saw the shows and got our pix sitting on a gator... then it got hot and kids went into the little water park...we relaxed under the fans and some big lawn chairs..i think wet and wild closed we did pirate dinner show..just ok and dollys show(closed)
some of the luau are great the sea world 1 you can get into the park i think 2 hours before the luau and you dont need a sea world tix we did that show very gd...lowes royal pacific has a luau also..

mousesavers husband has done some dinner shows and reviewed them...

I definately recommend both Gatorland and the Titanic Attraction that are on your list. Everyone in my family loves both of these.

Not sure if this would appeal to you, but something else we enjoyed was indoor sky diving in a wind tunnel at Sky Venture. It's on I drive, right across the street from Wet and Wild. Our extended family group ages 13 - 74 all did this.
