We'll be staying at ASMo in a couple weeks, and there's a chance that a relative from FL might want to visit us at the resort one day. If they're not actually staying at the resort, but just visiting (and don't have a park pass), are they able to park at ASMo for an afternoon? Is there a special visitor parking area, or can they park near us wherever our parking area is? Is there a limit to how long they can be there?

Thanks for your help!

It is possible your guests will be given a 3 hour parking pass.

Disney is understandably leery of someone coming in to park at the resort and spend the day at a park. Or spend the night at the resort without registering!

That may be true at other resorts but I have never ever seen a guest parking pass issued at All Stars. My daughter goes over there often (she is local and likes some of the food - weird I know) and has never been issued a parking pass.

Ok. So worst case scenario, expect a three-hour pass... but otherwise, if it's not overnight, it shouldn't be an issue because it's just an All-Star. Got it. I guess they just rip out the three-hour pass rules for popular resorts or busy times then? I guess we shouldn't have an issue. Thanks for the feedback!

This is my experience on someone visiting us at WDW. My sister lives just outside of Orlando and she has visited us every time we've visited WDW. Some of these experiences might not sit well with other DISers but this is what we did.

2003 - AKL - My sister arrived just after we did at the resort and was able to park in the AKL parking lot all evening without a problem. She got a 3 hr temporary parking pass and was actually there for ~4 1/2 hours.

2004 - POP - We used Mears to get to POP. We arrived on a Saturday. When we arrived we got a resort parking pass for my sisters car when we checked in. She met uson Sundayand went with us all day to the park and then she left for the night and she returned later in the week to pick us up and stayed parked at POP all that day and enjoyed the park with us again.

2005 - GF - We used DME to get to the GF. We stayed Sat - Fri. On Wednesday night My sister arrived at the GF and we got her a resort parking pass for her car and she stayed the rest of the week with us.

2006 - ASMu - We used DME again ot get to ASMu. When we checked in we got a parking pass for my sisters vehicle. She came to visit us on our second to last day and we put the parking pass in her car and then drove and parked at DHS for the day and then returned to ASMu and she left to go back home and we then took DME back to the airport.

2009 - AKV - We plan on arriving Saturday morning via DME and I plan on getting a parking pass for my sister's vehicle. She plans on meeting us at the resort at around noon and then we will be going out to dinner that evening and she might even be staying Saturday night and then she'll be leaving sometime Sunday afternoon.

We have had family visit us at almost every WDW REsort and they have never had a 3 hour restriction. This includes the Polynesian and over Chrstimastime last year the boardwalk!

My sil visits us every time - sometimes she gets a room for a couple days other times she comes for the day. She tells the guard at the gate she is visiting the so & so family and they waive her in.

You won't have a problem at the All Star resorts - and you could always ask at the desk to be sure.

My son visited me at POP with no problems at all. And he was there for quite awhile...much longer than 3 hrs.
My dad visited while we were at BWV. He did decide to valet. Otherwise he wasn't going to be able to park in the guest lot..it was the day after Thanksgiving!!
If you aren't at a resort with direct access to a park, your friend should be able to park at your resort, in the regular parking lots. He should just give your name and room number to the guard if asked.

We also had a friend who lives in Florida visit us in April when we were at AKL and I told the front desk. They issued me a pass and we put it in the window. She was there all day without a problem.
