Are noise cancelling ear muffs allowed to be worn while waiting in the standby line for those who are on the Autism Spectrum that get overstimulated by very loud sounds during a long period of time?

Yes, of course. I'm wondering why you would think they wouldn't be allowed? If it's because the person might not hear something important, there are always other cues to let you know what is going on.

If you wanted to be discrete, there are non ear muff style headphones with noise cancelling. The Air Pods Pro is an example.
