NOBODY IS MORE SURPRISED THAN US! GKTW alumni return! 10/21 MOVING DAY!!

OMG!! I really wish I could hope a plane and be there one to meet your family and 2 to hear Rachel play!!! That is amazing news for her!! I'm so glad she gets to experience it again!!!

Yes, if Men did what we do, there would be far fewer babes in the world! :lmao:

Love it Sandra! I LOVED being pregnant in spite of my many difficult issues and I KNEW when I was pregnant with Lisa that my four were the four God had promised and that was it. Savored it all the more!

No tips on driving that far with little ones, other than take lots of things to keep them busy and many rests/breaks along the way! Make an adventure of it!

We took Rachel to WDW when she was 3 months old (my first trip there EVER) and I was hooked! I really think it all depends on how well your children travel and you know how they do in a car for long stretches. And of course you are planning a day or two in Charlotte, right?

I have not been feeling well so I could use an extra dose of prayers, but mostly for the girls...nothing horrible, just the same "stuff".

Prayers for all who are reading and lurking. :goodvibes

Isn't that the truth!! My DH gets sick and he's worse than my 3 year old!!! :rotfl2: I get sick and I still don't stop. Which reminds me today is my down day because I woke up with a really bad sinus headache, a stuffy nose, and then ended up with a bloody nose. The kids had been sick so I think I'm coming down with it now. I can't be sick!! Too much to do!

I love being pregnant but chasing after 3 kids, Cub Scouts for Jeremy (Jeff is doing this with him), Girl Scouts for Sarah (I'm her co leader), class stuff and keeping a 3 year old entertained while his brother and sister are gone is really taking it out of me or else I'd really think about more but 4 is a very good number.

For the most part the kids are very good travelers. Jeremy's first road trip was when he was 5 weeks old and we went to Disneyland (surprised! :rotfl:) He did awesome! We'd stop for me to feed and change him and then we'd be on our way again. James and Sarah were both 3 months old for their first road trips and they were also great. They still are great travelers. I've learned to bring lot's of snacks, keep liquids to a minimum (keeps potty stops down), and lots of fun new little toys that they can play with in their car seats. The scariest part for me is just the distance, not the actual driving. If I can work in a day or two in Charlotte I'll be there!! May need to make a stop in NC anyways since my aunt and uncle live there and I haven't seen them since Jeremy was a baby. They moved about a year after he was born and haven't been back since. Now to find out where they actually live again.

Continued prayers that your all on the mend! Only a few more days and your on vacation!! Enjoy it!!!

Prayers for all who have asked for them!

The big news is about Rachel. She is playing at the House Of Blues in Orlando while we are in Florida and she is beyond excited!!! So are we. This is a video of her sharing the news at the last Open Mic Night. Pete will be accompanying her and as you can imagine we are exceptionally proud of her (This is HER gig, not his). I have known since July 25 that they wanted her to play again and before I could share the news she got the concussion (which Is STILL causing her problems). It is a blessing we had the HOB for her to look forward to though, because anytime she wanted to push herself to do more, I gently reminded her about this opportunity and it was enough to appease her. Music has been her saving grace, it is soothing/comforting to her and it is good for her soul. They are excited for her to return to HOB, this past week has been joyful as we get things together. The show is at 10:30 PM.

Thank you Gail and Lisa for keeping my secret.
Deborah, you were VERY close with your guess!
:goodvibes

So happy that Rachel has this opportunity to be performing at the HOB again! Glad things are working out and can't wait to hear how it went! Love the pictures of Rachel in the announcement banner too!

Piper..perhaps you could get one of those pull carts we call "granny carts" and load your groceries into that and wheel it. I know how hard it is to ask for help. My daughter will do anything I ask but I hate to ask as she has her own house and family. Groceries seem to get heavier all the time and I struggle with them too.

Judy..I am so happy for Rachel...I am sure she Neill be great. Will you be able to record her performance. What an amazing opportunity.

I have a cart but I can't use it because of my shoulders. I cannot walk from the drive to my apartment, so I use my scooter (which has a tiny basket.) Pulling the cart is really tough on my shoulder joints. Right now they are so painful that even pulling up the sheet in bed is a struggle. I just want my shoulders to get better. It would help me sleep better, too.

I used to be able to walk 25 feet, but the last time the doctor checked, I pushed myself to do 15 (with a forearm crutch.) I can stand approximately 3 minutes before I have to sit.

Ya-hoo! I'm so excited for Rachel! I was hoping your big news would be something along these lines!! IIRC, last time she had some trouble with the sound system not being loud enough, so I hope there are NO issues this time! Can't wait to hear all about it - big congrats from all of us!

I am so excited for Rachel. I was reading the DIS on my phone, but wanted to wait to reply 'til I was home with my laptop. What an honor! This once in a lifetime opportunity is happening TWICE!!! And I'm sure it won't be the last!!

Now I know why you asked how late JJ stays up. We'd love to come see her. I know HoB was too much stimulation for him last time. But if I can sneak away without everyone else, I will be there to support her! Is it in the restaurant as before, or outside?

What a great incentive to work on getting well. I'm so happy for her!

Well Judy, my first thought was HOB for Rachel to perform at but I figured that little Miss Lisa would figure out a way to "help" Rachel............by joining in :lmao: so that is why I made the guess that I did:laughing: But it is awesome news for Rachel and I know that the entire family is very proud of her.
Have a great trip and we will all look forward to trip updates and pictures.

Prayers are being sent out for all on the thread. I hope everyone has a safe week, experience as few health issues as possible and take time to relax and enjoy life, we all make the best of it no matter what is thrown in each of our paths, those little bumps only make us stronger.

Many prayers to all in need. Piper, I so wish I were your neighbor. I'd be more than happy to help you with your groceries.

What great news!! Congratulations Rachel!!

Everyone here is doing well. Kacy our oldest daughter had lost her job due to the company she worked for going bankrupt. She was out of work about 2 weeks before she found a better job for $2.00 more an hour. I am having stomach related problems which is always a worry for me but I think it may just be a virus. Scotty has a groin pull but he keeps plugging along. I got our daughter Kody to finally see a Dr about her panic attacks so I am praying that she is on the road to having a regular life. Our house is coming along real well. If anyone is interested in seeing the progress I post pictures weekly on my pre trip report. The link is in my signature.

Thoughts and prayers to all.

Yay for Rachel's gig!!! That is sooooo cool! I'm glad it has been a great goal for her to have. Everyone who will be there is so lucky! :)

So happy for Rachel that she gets this opportunity to perform, I am sure that has been great incentive to take it easy since the concussion.

Thoughts and prayers to all that need them.

Thank you for being excited for Rachel. :goodvibes

It is definitely hard to be pregnant and have little ones running around. My guys are pretty good when they are sick, Pete has his moments...he just wants to crawl in bed and be left alone..unless he wants something, lol.

I am fighting a wicked sore throat tonight, I am not sure what is going on. I don't feel great. I sent Pete to the guest room, I do NOT want him getting sick!

I think you have the traveling with littles down pat, that IS a long journey though! :faint: Let me know when you find out where your Aunt and Uncle live, maybe they will be near me! :thumbsup2

Be good to yourself.

So happy for all of you, Judy! This is really exciting news! I'm sure Rachel will have a great performance - and I will be praying for her to continue her recovery!:cool1:

I love when awesome things happen to great people!! I can't help but be excited for her!!

That's good that yours are so self sufficient. Mine just wants attention and everything done for him and that's just not going to happen with little one's running around. I'd send him to the other room too. I hope your feeling better by the time you leave on your trip.

I think we do too. We're told we're crazy for all the road trips we do but we do it and the kids actually love it!! I'll have to get their address from my mom because I can't find it. Will let you know for sure once we know for sure what our plans are.

You too. Take care of yourself so your not sick on your trip.
