NOBODY IS MORE SURPRISED THAN US! GKTW alumni return! 10/21 MOVING DAY!!

Love the movie nights, great Jungle book theme. What a great way to count down to your Disney trip! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Happy Canada Day,

Had a great day, but trying to cool off now, it's hot here!

Here is a photo of my improvised earings for the day, they are actually pins. I thought they would hurt my ears but were perfectly fine until I took them out.

Deborah, I'm so glad you are able to have your Dad nearby now. That must take a huge weight off your mind.
What a fun idea for Lisa's movie night! I look forward to seeing your future ones. I am sure your kids had a blast and now the ideas will be flowing to see what else they can come up with!
We dropped our 2 big kids off at camp yesterday. They were so excited, in spite of the pouring rain. Actually, the rain is such a blessing. It will definitely help with the wildfires. In fact, Benjamin's group will be able to have their campfire this week because of the rain - it was cancelled up until now due to fire bans. He is in teepee camp and LOVES it, even in the wet weather! Elisabeth is in a cabin down the hill and was stoked to get a top bunk (the last one) when we checked in yesterday. She gave us a quick hug and kiss and ran off to find "someone who will be my new friend" without a look back! The house seems so quiet with just one child in it. In fact, Ezra is still asleep (unheard of) since the kids aren't here to wake him up! We are looking forward to 4th of July here. We have a friend who owns a vintage fire truck and he invited us to ride on it for the parade on Thursday. I know Ezra is going to love that....what little boy doesn't adore fire trucks? David is planning to take a couple days off this week, so we will do some things with just Ezra and have a low-key week just the 3 of us.

Prayers for all who have requested them. I think of you all several times a day and pray as you are brought to mind.
Thanks Amy, it was a great time for certain. It was just what we needed after a tense/stressful week. Life is too short to not have fun, so glad you are getting some alone time with Ezra and that Benjamin and Elisabeth are off for some fun at camp! Children are supposed to be children, you are a great Mom! SO FUN that you all get to ride in the firetruck for the parade! :goodvibes Have fun!!
Morning Judy, just now getting a chance to pop back in and catch up. Our internet was out all weekend and I came up with the wonderful idea of painting every single wall in our house that's not a log wall. Yeah, ask me if I'm tired yet. :crazy2:

I've always wanted to do the Disney movie night countdown but never get around to it for some reason. Lisa came up with excellent ideas for the food choices. The ants on logs were my favorite.
MIssed you my friend, it is no fun to have internet issues...but I FULLY understand, I am your friend. :lovestruc Painting your house must have been a HUGE undertaking, I bet it looks great! :thumbsup2 Ya'll are welcome to take road trip to see me and give me a hand on ours. :rotfl2:

We have done movie nights as you so well know  but the theme...no so much.I really WAS surprised at how good the raisins were on the peanut butter celery!
Prayers for tomorrow to go well. :goodvibes
Thank you, it is going to be some day....

What a fabulous job Lisa did with her Jungle Book themed dinner. Those animal plates are a clever addition. Everything was so well done!

Glad to know you were safe through those storms. :)

The resort is so beautiful and perfect for your family. It would be nice to relax on that patio. I'm sure your kids are so excited to be returning! :goodvibes

Amazing movie night by Lisa! What a fun idea!!! I may do that with Kaitlyn as we plan for our October trip! :)

I should be sleeping but I am at
my embroidery machine finishing a last
minute embellishment. My mom made the bow
for it this morning...it's a dress we had planned a while. Just appliqueing on a knit walmart dress. We head up to the inlaws tomorrow. Plan is to get as far as Louisville, KY tomorrow.

The marriage retreat was wonderful! We learned a LOT about ourselves and each other. Talked about a lot of topics we never had before, and got some great tactics to add to our toolbox. Plus a couple of books!

I am praying for all. Please pray Kaity stays healthy. Bill and I both have a touch of something. Always great before a big road trip. :-/ Thanks!

Wow, that is awesome! And so special to be on the other side of GKTW! :lovestruc
:welcome::welcome: Caitlin! So happy you are here and excited for you as well. :goodvibes Please let me know if I can answer any questions for you. We had to postpone my daughters MAW trip three separate times due to medical problems; however, once we FINALLY made the trip it was magical!

Here is a pic of my four volunteering in the ice cream shop. My husband and I worked the pool. We had such a wonderful time!

Lots of great ideas. I will go look for some pictures of our dinners.

Thank you for the link, I have sent it to everyone of us except Lisa (she doesn't have an emil account). This should inspire us and I am VERY excited to see some of your pics!!

I love the movie night dinner.
It was great fun Emma!

Ok so I am a day late and this needs to be said first for ALL of my Canadian friends:

Tracy, LOVE the pics you shared and I am glad those pins didn't hurt your ears, that looks painful, but festive! I hope you had a wonderful day of celebrating. :goodvibes

Movie night was fun, you would have enjoyed it if you had been with us it was a full of laughter kind of night...and you know how we love those! :thumbsup2

Love the movie night idea and how everyone gets involved..I totally need to steal this ;)

Thanks for the Canada day shout out Judy !

Oh I remember how amazing your suite was last time. I hope you get the same one. It looks like a beautiful location with lots of shade and foliage.

Lisa did a great job with her theme night. Katie would be right there with ants on a log...and meat! :thumbsup2

I know what you mean about falling asleep as you sit down to watch a movie. I miss the ending of more movies than I care to admit to!!!

Can't wait to see what the kids come up with next.

Mulan do chinese food, Snow white German potato perogies, saurkraut ekrich sausage, I know chinese you can make get the terriaki noodles in the package, its like lo mein, make your own egg rolls with cole slaw mix and breakfast sausage, Lilo and Stitch veg dip (cream cheese, zesity italian dry dressing and tomato juice) you can serve with raw vegetables and cantalope and watermelon, this recipe is actually from hawaii. Lady and tramp have spaghetti, tell me when i can call you and we can come up with some more I have lots of cheap ideas

Judy, so happy for you and the family going back to Orlando. Enjoy the week away from the stress of life and doctor appointments. Hope you can get the same rooms like last year. The movie nights looked like a lot of fun and Lisa did a great job planning the meal for everyone. I'll likely be checking in and not posting as much but know that I'll be praying for you and all those who request it.

I remember the villa from the last trip...absolutely beautiful and spacious.

What a fun idea with movie night. And, as always, Lisa did a great job with her selection of movies and her food ideas.

The DIS went down for its nightly hiatus and I am not sure how many responses I can get to...but will do my best! I think I also may have a trojan/virus...my computer is doing strange things.

Thanks Brenda, it was a blast to do the movie night. We are fortunate the guys are in to Disney as well, it makes the family time more special.

We have had so many storm warnings all around and some areas have had some flooding. We have been fortunate, we haven't lost any trees but the girls playhouse took another hit.

We are excited about the resort, it was so peaceful and luxurious! The two balconies are definitely an added bonus! Last time it had the added advantage of overlooking the pool and when my guys went back down at night to "relax" we could hear them with the young ladies at the pool. :lmao:
shhh! It is nice to know they are gentleman even when they don't know I can hear them! :thumbsup2

I think Kaity would love movie nights, you can get her in the mood and keep both your spirits up while Bill is deployed! :grouphug:

I can't wait to see what yu have created, you are so talented. :goodvibes I hope you have a great trip, there should be a package from David when you get home, he had a letter from you Tuesday when he got home.

I LOVE that the marriage retreat was so enriching. It is so important to not only grow as a couple, but to discover things about ourselves. Too many folks bury their feelings then lash out in ways that aren't healthy for anyone.
You and Bill certainly deserved that special time together a well...that Navy Chaplain is one smart guy! :thumbsup2

Praying you and Bill are feeling MUCH better and that Kaity does NOT get sick!
I love that picture of the children volunteering at GKTW. They look so happy. :goodvibes
It was a fabulous time and the children really were happy!
Love the movie night idea and how everyone gets involved..I totally need to steal this ;)

Thanks for the Canada day shout out Judy !
I am very fortunate that my children actually like each other and enjoy doing things as a family. The countdown has given the girls a creative outlet to squeeze in some learning and not even realize it.

I LOVE my Canadian friends!!! :goodvibes

I am a little late but I am here. Thank you for the invite, I haven't been on to much the last couple weeks because I'm kind of down about my whole work situation and now my husband is out of work all week this week too.

I am so happy that ya'll get to go back to Flordia, if anyone deserves it, it is ya'll.

Thoughts and prayers to all that need them.

I hope we get the same one as well Mary Ellen, it was awesome! :thumbsup2 The view was gorgeous and if the children got tired of our pool, all they had to do was walk on the short nature path and go to the pool next door! The resort had a lot of pools. :thumbsup2 We know how fortunate we are to have a place to stay, that is half the battle for us.

Katie and Lisa would get along so well and so would you and I. We are both kindred spirits...some day you will be "home" when we can come to Florida and finally meet IRL. And the girls can eat meat and ants on a log...what a menu! :rotfl2:

As for the movie viewing...I always wake up as the credits are rolling...it is the big joke around here, what movie is Mom going to sleep through today.

I need to press Rachel for her movie idea so I can get anything we need from the grocery store...I am doing an impromptu holiday theme for tomorrow...we have to celebrate our nations birthday! :cheer2:

Sherri, I can't tell you enough how great it is to see you. Love your ideas! Lisa had already suggested Chinese and Mulan...actually what she asked me was if on Disney movie night did it have to be food we prepared or if we could buy something ...I asked her what she had in mind and she said Chinese food. We have a local restaurant that serves huge take out portions for lunch and three meals can feed all six of us for about $15. I told her I like how she thought! As for when to call me...anytime! You know if I am home I will answer. Often between 10 and 12:30 is a good time, but it depends on the day and the appts. With just my vehicle, anytime from 2PM onward is practically impossible to catch me...but you could try if you want, sometimes I am able to be home for a short time. I know you wouldn't take my inability to answer your call personally and I Thank You for that.
I hope today went well with David's medical tests and the doctor appointments.
It was a very long day for all of us yesterday, Thankfully Christian was able to help and my parents MD appts. were next door to where David was taking his nine hour medical tests. Christian brought my parents to me, then stayed with David while the girls and I went to my parents MD appts. With Pete not having a vehicle, Tuesday nights finds us both at music lessons, there is no time to go home between Pete getting off from work and needing to be at the studio... Thanks for the support and for understanding.

Thank you Gail and Thank you for being a faithful and true friend . You really understand and I am grateful for that. We are hoping for a stress free lead up to the trip, last summer was just so difficult and I don't want a repeat. I know you will sign in when you feel up to it and I will be happy to see your supportive messages. :goodvibes

It was a great resort and wonderful place to stay. I still can't believe it! Thanks for being happy for us! :goodvibes

Movie night with a Disney theme just made us excited and we are looking forward to more fun! Lisa is such a smart girl, with tons of creativity.

First,:hug::hug: about the jobs! Praying things work out and that your spirits are lifted very soon. I understand about not feeling like being here, I am just happy to see you! :goodvibes We are grateful to be able to go back and we know what a blessing it is. There are so many that could use a vacation, no matter where it is and I hope you get a chance to get away soon. It truly does lift your spirits. I am praying for good news for you! Thanks for being here!

Thanks I know it will all work out in the end, it always has in the past. I might actually get a vacation soon, my mother-in-law is trying to plan a family trip to Disney in January, hopefully it will actually happen this year, as she has been trying for the past 3.

Thoughts and prayers to all that need them.
