Nobby's Gnomies... heading to WDW in April 2010

Stacy :yay: We've missed you!!!!!

That sucks about the dental work. I hate the dentist but since I had a terrible incident involving novacaine and requiring an oxygen mask, I seriously dread it!! I wish I could get a valium when I go too.

Well, now the school is calling all students back starting Thursday despite the fact that in the last week, the clinics and hospital have sent 140 samples to be tested and 27 have come back as probable cases. I guess the CDC has changed their recommendations for kids to return to school even with confirmed cases. make up your mind people!!!

I will look either tonight or tomorrow. I am not motivated at all tonight.

What a bummer. I learned a trick today. If you send me a direct message on twitter, I get a text message on my phone. So if you want to send me something and see that I read it while I'm gone, you can do that! That goes for all my gnomies! :thumbsup2

Sorry you are lacking in the motivation. But I suppose it is better than "uber cranky?" :confused3

I have got to learn more about twitter. It seems so cool and I've found all kinds of people to follow... including Oprah.

Hey ladies!!!! :grouphug:

I don't know how I managed to stay away for over a week! But right now I'm stuck home since I was at the dentist this afternoon and had to take a valium to calm down (I have a super phobia of the dentist!)...but that also affects my tummy in a pretty nasty way so I've been pretty ill all evening. I was even sick on the poor hygenist! I felt soooo bad! Hope they're ready for me on Tuesday ( I have to have some dental surgery to have some bridgework and a crown replaced)

Things have been pretty busy family wise too. My mum is slowly moving over to her boyfriend's place so I've been helping with that. Plus we had a nice party for her 60th birthday! And my extended family have our big jaunt to Indiana this weekend for the March of Dimes Walk. Also I was working more since our manager had to go to meetings out of town and we had our customer appreciation event....excuses excuses I know....:) But I hope things are going well for all of you!

I have heel spurs too! They make a ton of running shoes terribly uncomfortable! I usually put heel pads in my shoes to help....and as soon as the snow is gone I'm back into flip flops! It was weird to wear runner's at WDW in December since I usually do it all in sandals but it was too cold and I fell in the rain the first day so that dampened my love for them. I'm sure you'll both be fine!

Stacy! Great to hear from you! Sorry about the dentist. I have serious dentist phobia too. Now the valium is not a bad idea (other than the ensuing stomach issues).

Good luck this weekend with your trip! :goodvibes

Heel spurs?! You too??? We are going to have to start a gnomefest training program or else we'll all be in ECVs! :lmao:

Oh dear- your story doesn't do much for my dentist phobia. :scared1: So it's back to school Thurs. I guess the quick trip to WDW wasn't meant to be. :sad2: At least not this week anyway. :rolleyes1

Stace, it's so good to hear from you! Sorry about the dental work. Boo!

Katie, I think they have changed their recommendations. If I never hear the term Swine Flu again, it will be too soon. BOO TO SWINE FLU.

Crappy day here too. Work sucks. No other way to say it. But thank you so much for the comic relief of the image of Jen and LL on their ECVs scooting through the parks! :lmao:

So I was thinking about what might cheer me up and I thought that maybe I'll try to have a day of Disney meals over the weekend. Something like CP's April in Paris luncheon or her mickey sundaes and in between I could work on some planning, my PTR, maybe some t-shirts. Any ideas? I'm not sure what I'd make. :confused3 I wonder if I could figure out a grand marnier slushie... ;)

Oh, my day was crappy, too. Wait until I fill you in on the details!

I think your Disney meals sound like fun -- you have to take pics and show us over here.

You have been busy! I hope that Valium works through your system pretty quickly!

I was heartened by the news that the CDC is saying not to close schools, but, on the other hand, won't that increase our chances of catching it, and who really wants piggy flu?

********

So, my week just keeps getting better and better. Feeling somewhat more cheery knowing that tonight was supposed to be clear on the weather front, I came home to cook a nice meal (meatloaf, mashed potatoes, green beans, and strawberry shortcakes). Charles ran out to the store taking my car. About an hour later (I was starting to wonder where he was, and he hadn't taken his phone), a number with a woman's name comes up on the caller ID. I almost didn't answer it since I didn't recognize it.

Well, it was my husband. Turning into the subdivision he had been in an accident. Everyone was fine, but he told me it was his fault. When I asked how the car was (I was so steamed), he said it was "driveable."

When he finally got home, I got the full story. There was a car in front of him in the turn lane. Well, she had started to go, and then at the last minute had decided not to and slammed on her brakes. He tried to swerve to avoid hitting her. Well, he still hit her and of course got a ticket for it. Sigh. My headlight is cracked and there are scuff marks on the fender. :headache: Not to mention all the hassle of paying the ticket and reporting to insurance, etc.

What a week so far and it is far from over!

What a week so far and it is far from over!

Oh dear, CP! (Eeyore again!) What the heck is going on in Georgia??! At least your dinner sounds yummy! Hang in there. One way or another the week will be over soon. And you are about to be under 30 days to WDW. :yay: And have only two more weeks of school left! :woohoo: Green with envy here  but you deserve it. And selfishly I am looking forward not only to your TR but to all your summertime updates! :goodvibes

Oh my dentist fear goes back a long way! When I was 6 years old I had my first tooth pulled (a baby one that wouldn't come out!), and I have a really strong gag reflex, so I threw up all over the dentist and he freaked!! I'm talking super duper crazy spaz attack! I've been terrified ever since. So to calm me down so I don't cry and hyperventilate and vomit they give me valium, or if it's gonna take a few hours, knock me right out! Getting my caps done was a nightmare!:sad2:

As for the heel spurs they just go along well with my wide, flat feet and my funky toes (which have all been broken at least once so they fall funny), and surgery for ingrown toenails....I have the worst feet! I truly believe that I died from some kind of foot ailment in a previous life! My feet suck and I have a birthmark on the left one! I think I died having my feet bound in Ancient China:rolleyes1

Katie - I was listening to a piece on the news this morning about parents worrying about keeping their kids in school with the flu outbreak. They said unless your child is feeling poorly they should be fine, but suggested sending the kids to school with hand sanitizer in their backpacks. I'm sure your boys will be just fine.

Georgia apparently has a bad luck cloud over it right now. :headache: I hope tomorrow turns out to be less severe than they are presently predicting.

I am trying to focus on all of the positives right now! Although no Disney mail as of yet -- although I did get all the magazines today -- thank you! I can't wait to curl up with them! :goodvibes Glancing through the Celebrations, I am going to have to subscribe to that one -- it's a beautiful magazine.

Oh good! I'm glad they arrived! I really enjoy them too. Celebrations is my favorite of the two. Always good to get a dose of Disney. I'm still reading my D23 magazines but when I'm done I'll share those too. Now those are AMAZING in terms of the photos. Hope those tide you guys over until your trip! :goodvibes

--------

Hey Stace- I have a birthmark on my left foot too! But have never broken a toe (knock on wood) or any other ailments. So your dentist gives you valium? I'm going to have to suggest this next time! :lmao: Wonder if they serve wine. ;)

Oh no CP!! I hope things start to look up for you soon!

Thank you! :goodvibes

Did you tell us you had joined? What do you think of it so far?

I really want the pool to open now so I can stretch out with a copy of Celebrations and relax!

I don't know if I told you. But I wasn't keeping it a secret either. :confused3I like it. Was it worth whatever I paid for it? I don't know. But so far I've gotten two magazines with articles and pictures that look amazing, a pin, a lithograph, some paper fans that imitate what they gave out back when DL opened and some invitations to participate in some events I couldn't get to.

Hmmm... maybe I'll do a D23 review/update this weekend while cooking my Disney food and doing other Disney stuff. :upsidedow

Oh, CP! I am so sorry. I'm happy that everyone is okay though. :goodvibes

Stace, I am cracking up at you dying of bound feet in China in a past life. :lmao: My cubicle mate and I were talking about past lives yesterday and I can't remember what I said I was in a past life but it was really funny. I wish I could remember! This is going to drive me nuts now.

C, I would love a full review of D23!

I don't know if any of you watch American Idol but what the !()(#@)!_#* is Adam wearing? He scares the carp out of me! :scared1: He makes me feel dirty or something, and not in a good way. :lmao:

Oh, yes, a full review of D23, please!

Thank you! I am cheering myself up by watching Star Wars Robot Chicken videos on youtube with Connor -- well, the ones he can watch with me anyway. His giggling always makes me smile.

hi girls!!

sorry that it seems everyone had a rather crappy day... I did too:sad1: And not that anything even 'happened'...i was just way out of sorts and tired..so at some point i ended up in the restroom having a cry. I'm going to bed soon...I need to feel more like 'me' tomarrow.

 hi stacy!! we missed you!! xoxox

On a happy WDW note...I booked my airfare for September today:woohoo: Early in and the WHOLE day on my departure day too!! I'll get into MCO at 920am...and leave MCO at 725pm!! I got a pretty good rate too...$168 RT so i still have credit left over:yay:

Ooooh! We're birthmark sisters! I've broken most of my toes more than once (clumsy girl sitting right here!), so hopefully that will save you from it!

Yes the dentist gives me 4 valium...take 2 at night and 2 in the morning before my appointment.....usually I sit in the waiting room drooling like a mad woman I'm so out of it! :rotfl:

Stace, I am cracking up at you dying of bound feet in China in a past life. :lmao: My cubicle mate and I were talking about past lives yesterday and I can't remember what I said I was in a past life but it was really funny. I wish I could remember! This is going to drive me nuts now.

Thank you!!! Most people look at me as though I have 2437428 eyes when I say stuff like that! But I really believe I have had several past lives! I think you have to learn all of life's lessons before you move on to Heaven...but without getting too heavy, I also think I have been famous in a past life, have been British at least once, and lived in New Orleans when people were just starting to come over from Europe. Weird huh?:rotfl2: What do you think your past lives were?

OK you married ladies...Do you ever have times when your hubby isn't doing anything unusual but he just drives you nuts?

Tonight Greg was talking about and commenting on various things and all I could do is smile while in my head I was screaming SHUT UP!!!! He was driving me insane for no particular reason and I just wanted him to shut the **** up!

Hi Stace!! :woohoo:
Sorry to hear about the dentist! When I was younger and experienced some cavities, I used to wear my headphones, a blindfold and use a stressball (I kid you not) and now for the OBGYN, the 1st time I ever went in (my doctor is actually one of the nurses that was in the room when I was delivered!) she told me "don't come back unless you'd had valium" :rotfl:
So now I have to take 2 before I go to any appointment, but she is my SOURCE when I need them to fly :worship:

Hey! We did a vote earlier this week for our 1st ADR! (This goes to the rest of the Gnomies that didn't catch this):
Due to some vote changes, Liberty Tree Tavern popped back up as one of the choices. Would you rather have the LTT, the Crystal Palace or Plaza? In addition, which meal would you want for it, and would you do a Grand Gathering at Tony's with all the Gnomies in addition to one of the above, or have the GG as our only official MK ADR?

CP-So sorry again to hear about your car! Thankfully Charles wasn't hurt nor anyone else and thankfully your hurt didn't fare worse!

Hi P! for crying in the restroom and :yay::woohoo::yay: for booking your Sept flights!! What are your dates again?

So how do you know about your past lives? Just a feeling you have or someone told you? I went to a psychic once (I love that stuff) who said I was on a battleship in WWII and went crazy so they had to throw me overboard :scared: and that I was also in ancient Greece as an orator (interesting since public speaking is one of my biggest fears!)

That happens to me sometimes, Katie. People just sometimes get on your nerves. Good for you for smiling and nodding instead of screaming! :upsidedow

Well that's it. I need my own Valium prescription. Everyone's doing it. Jess, thanks again for organizing the ADRs.
