Nobby's Gnomies... heading to WDW in April 2010

Katie, that is a riot!!! Thanks, I needed a good laugh!

C, have a safe flight home tomorrow!

LL, that seems like a cruel tease to still be getting emails about December.

Julez, we love you, too.

I am sure I am forgetting to comment on other gnomies posts -- I am sorry. I am sitting at my SIL's on her laptop -- we are spending the night here tonight since the storms are supposed to start bright and early tomorrow. I really hope it isn't near as dire as the meterologists are saying. Please, please, please keep all of us down here in the South in your prayers tonight and tomorrow.

Good Morning Gnomies.

CP, I hope everything is going well down there and the storms are not as bad as they predicted.

Katie, that is a riot! :rotfl2:

Marc & I watched Bolt last night, it was super cute! I was even crying at some parts. So adorable. :lovestruc I don't know if I told you all but our living room dvd player broke a month or so ago. It skips, so you are watching a movie and then all of a sudden it will skip a few chapters. Very annoying. So we have gotten rid of it. Well last night we watched Bolt on Marc's xbox in the living room. At night when we go to bed we usually put a dvd on in our bedroom. Well that dvd player broke last night! :headache: You know what Marc says to me with a giddy look on his face, "maybe one of the tvs will break next!" :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl: I really need to get him that flat screen tv soon.

Good Morning Gnomies!!!

C--I hope you get your tooshie home safely, and then share all about your wonderful trip!

CP and Jen---know that we are all praying for your safety through these storms!!!!

Katie---I love that story you shared!!! TOO FUNNY!!!!

LL---I am so glad you got to finally see BOLT!!! We enjoyed it too!!! And yes, I DEFINITELY think you are going to have to break down soon and get that boy his TV!!! :)

We get to have a completely open and unscheduled weekend here this week---I can't remember the last time we had one!!! CAN'T WAIT!!! What should we do first??!?!?!?!?!?!

That is exactly the kind of thing that Charles would say, LL! His thing is his computer though.

I am thinking that I will buy Bolt for us over spring break (which is only a week away now). Is it a keeper? Have you watched Australia yet???

Good morning, Jen! So far everyone's prayers are paying off in North Georgia. Like I mentioned last night, we spent the night at my SIL's -- well, the kids and I did -- Charles thinks I am a freak and was actually excited that he was going to have the house to himself. Then, about 10:30 last night he called me to tell me that being at home alone wasn't near as fun as he thought it would be. I had the hardest time sleeping last night -- between worrying about the storms, being in a strange bed, and waking up everytime a train would rumble past (SIL's subdivision has train tracks behind it) I must have woken up about a dozen times. I got up at about 6:30 and went to check the weather. At that point, they had pushed the predictions back to 1:00 -- now they are pushed back to about 5:00, but I am hoping, after looking at the radar, that it is fizzling out. I am still on-edge about it though. We came home about 9:00 after having biscuits from Bojangles with SIL and her family.

This is our first unscheduled weekend in about three weeks as well -- I am excited. I think we might just be lazy, lazy, lazy -- the rain helps justify that.

Bolt is a keeper for sure! I loved it, Marc slept through it. Pffft.

I am so glad the weather is holding out for you, CP. :thumbsup2 I have a book question for you CP. I'm dying to read more books set in the same time as the Pink Carnation ones, do you have any suggestions? Right now I am reading "The Lady Elizabeth" which is about Queen Elizabeth which is a bit earlier but I am loving it. I think I want to go to the book store today. :thumbsup2

I am so glad about the weather, too! I hope Jen is okay -- it looks like some pretty nasty thunderstorms going through the panhandle this morning.

Let's see...

*The Scarlet Pimpernel
by Baroness Orczy -- lots of references to this one in The Secret History of the Pink Carnation

All of the Jane Austens and Georgette Heyers but no spies.

The Jane Austen detective series by Stephanie Barron.

*The Rosetti Letter by Christi Phillips was really, really good and had a similar feel to the Carnation series. There is a second one coming out soon.

I starred my two main recommendations. :goodvibes

Excellent! Thank you. I did buy a Jane Austen last time so I still have that to read. :thumbsup2

I am getting my shopping cart on amazon ready for Tuesday when I get paid -- so far I have Mousejunkies, From Dead to Worse (the paperback since I have yet to read it), and Breaking Dawn (helping out the Easter Bunny :)). Mickey Mouse and vampires -- what do you think that says about me? :rotfl:

:rotfl2: That is what my amazon account says about me too. Is Mousejunkies out yet? I really want to get that one. Maybe I will just do an Amazon order next week. I can't get motivated today. We were going to go out but now I'm sitting here trying to motivate myself to do my hair. Bah. I think I just want to put my pj's back on.

April 1st which I guess is Wednesday! Where did March go? :confused3

I am not motivated today at all but I am okay with it. I just got up from a nap and ate some toast.

So I went to the bookstore and forgot my CP approved booklist. :headache: I ended up buying the other book by the author I am currently reading right now and The Other Boylen Girl and The Boylen Inheritance. I am so exhausted, I think I might go nap. I need to get motivated though I still have a lot to get done for the move. :sad1:

Ha! That's me too! My last order had the Twilight Director's Notebook, Russell Brand's memoir, and a Disney art book! - vampires, a raunchy Brit comic, and Disney! I prefer to think we're "well-rounded" ;)

I'm so excited for tomorrow - NKOTB time!! :woohoo: I'm not going to have a voice for work on Monday! That's really the only exciting thing I'm up to this weekend! A friend of mine and I are hitting the movies tonight but I still don't know what we're seeing. Now after seeing all this talk about Bolt I would rather just stay home and watch that!

C - hope you get home safely and that your trip was a blast!

LL - I find stuff tends to break in 3's, maybe it is time to get that new TV! I'm glad you guys enjoyed Bolt!

Katie - that is a great story! I hope I'll have a picture like that someday!

CP - I hope you guys are safe. I'll be thinking of you.

Stace, have lots and lots of fun at NKOTB. That is so exciting!

So we packed up some more tonight. I feel like we are almost down except for the last minute tv's and computer and such. We are going to do some more tomorrow but that is mostly clothes that we won't need this week. Marc was a trooper today and packed up all the dishes and non-perishable food. He was on a roll this afternoon. I took down my countdown calendar...sniff sniff. I consoled myself with the fact that I will be able to take a weeks worth of Mickey Heads down next week.

Those sound good, though.

Too bad you weren't able to text me -- then I could have told you the list again. :thumbsup2

You are going to have so much fun!!! I think I still know all the words to most of their early stuff!!! You must tell me all about it afterwards!

The irony of all this is that now we are under a tornado watch with a nasty band of storms headed our way. I was so not expecting that -- we were supposed to be done with the storms. Charles had already gone to bed and I woke him up to keep me company. I started shaking and almost crying when I saw it. :sad2:

Go play Bejeweled Blitz on Facebook, my goodness it's addicting. :rotfl2:

I don't want to go to bed, just on principle. I feel like this day has gone by way too fast.

I think I FBed myself out last night over at my SIL -- I haven't been on it all day.

I want to go to bed, but I can't just yet -- have to get through this band of storms. I have been looking forward to sleeping in my own bed all day long.

I had planned on coming home from my parents', getting the kids in the shower, and curling up with my latest Toby Peters mystery (this one has Cary Grant in it). None of that happened. :(

LL, I had to think of Marc today. We went out of town today and I told Greg we had to stop at the bookstore because I couldn't find the gifts that the boys wanted to get Greg for his birthday (Dooby Dooby Moo and If you Give a Cat a Cupcake...yeah, birthday presents from the boys are really for them :lmao:). So I told Greg to let me run into Borders which is right next to Best Buy. He said "Borders, are you sure? The 54" plasma TV is at Best Buy, I'll drop you off there"

I had a pretty busy day of errands. An event at school this morning followed by haircuts for the 3 guys then we went to Lowes, Menards and Home Depot in search of the tile we want to put on the fireplace surround. I selected a "blue pearl" granite. For those of you who are not rock experts like myself, it's not actually a granite, its a black igneous rock called gabbro containing a mineral called labradorite which has a really nice blue color, very nice polished up and I think it will offset the wooden floors nicely

I have to let you all know that Greg has refinished the fireplace surround and has it put back together, he bought wood to make a new mantle (golden mahogony) and is searching for an insert. He has decided we need to get a non-venting gas insert, that way we don't have to worry about a chimney inspection and possible pricy repairs. I'm looking forward to having a working fireplace for the first time in 9 years of living in our house.

Hope you are all having a great weekend. I'm looking forward to hearing all about C's trip
