LL, I can't believe it's almost time for you to move!! And sorry about all your work frustrations-- HOW many days till vacation???

Katie- that just stinks. The freezer AND unpaid days for Gnomefest!!

MM- What you wrote was beautiful and I'm so happy you were able to get past your anger and resentment to come to a place of peace and recognize your blessings to their fullest! That's wonderful and amazing. God never ceases to amaze me. EVER.

Paula- that SUCKS about the summer trip but is AWESOME you got the job!!!!! Wooo HOoo !!!! I'm SOOOOO happy for you!!

And on a personal note- Jim and I have decided to pay off our credit card debt instead of buy a house. My brother says that's fine for us to continue to live here and he's promised to come and figure out some issues w/the house this weekend. Since this summer will be 2 years and evidently, we aren't moving.... I'm going to actuallly unpack the last 5 boxes in the garage, buy some window coverings FINALLY... and paint whatever I want!!!!

When Jim said he wanted to do this, I cried and was quiet for about an hour and then I realized that everything happens in it's time, and who knows??? Maybe a move somewhere warm IS in our future so I should see this as a sign that it might happen someday.

I also told him that after he finishes school (he's been on hiatus for 3 mos) that I will go back to school. But not for nursing as he wants, but for teaching, as I have wanted to do for many years. Specifically, special education- elementary. Can't beat the schedule, and can't beat the rewards. I'm nervous about more student loans, and long hours spent doing homework, but Im excited to finally be doing something I care about and something I'm sure I'll be fantastic in.

Ok, I'm gonna go catch up on all of your PTR/TR's!! I love my gnoooommies!!!

Wow Julez, sorry about the house decision but all things are meant to happen. You just don't always know why at the time.

That is so awesome about you wanting to go back to school!! Yes, being a teacher does have its perks and being a special ed teacher requires an amazing gift that I admire in anyone wanting to go in that direction! Good for you for following your heart.

Hey Gnomies,

sorry I haven't been around much lately. Things have been quite busy! I think I'm on my way to a promotion at work so I've been working some extra hours! It's great, but I'm in the developing stage of another head cold I think so I've been sleeping almost every moment I'm not at work!

I hope everyone has been getting along okay! I can't belive it's the middle of the week already! Hopefully this is a good thing for everyone else! I'm really looking forward to the weekend for some rest time and some play time!

Things are pretty quiet here, same ol' same ol', just the regular running around....still debating on the short solo trip in September. I'm wondering now if free dining might come into play!

My day is off to a blah start. The receptionist is out today so I have to go down and cover after lunch, which stinks because I have to rush through my work and then go downstairs with NOTHING to do. Thank goodness I always bring a book to work.

Julez, sorry about not buying a house. No debt is a good thing though. Only 57 more days until vacation.

Good morning everybody! I'm in good spirits this morning... probably has to do with the fact that I don't return to work until Monday! I don't even mind that I have a TON of housework to do before we leave early Saturday morning for 2 days in the Windy City.

Hi Stacey! You HAVE been busy w/your new job,huh? That's super, I hope you get the promotion!! And free dining IS in the rumor mill from Aug. 15- Sept 30th with booking starting March 30th!

I'm PRAYING I can convince DH to let me go down for my birthday! Even if just for like, 2 days! LOL. I told him yesterday that with his sudden go-getter attitude about money, he has to understand that I am interested in travel and makin' memories w/a good quality vacation EVERY YEAR so if HE insists on being into material things, he'll just have to put up with it or let me go w/the kids myself!

BUT... Disneyland just released a deal with buy 3 days, get 2 free for hotel and tickets until October! And since I'm DYING to go to the D23 expo in Sept, that would be so amazing!

My wheels are spinning.... in all honesty, I shouldn't let them...but I WAAANNNTT TO!!!

Julez, that is EXACTLY how it is in our house. Greg is constantly wanting more stuff. I'm sick of stuff, I want to do things. It's getting to the point where I am tempted to put aside equal money when he buys more CD's and music "necessities" because it is too easy for him to spend a little here and some more there then say we don't have the money in the summer for a nice vacation.

Good news, it appears my freezer is working properly again!

Well I'm under a tornado warning...I'm sitting in my mod which is safe up to a Category 4 Hurricane and I have no students and I'm just waiting for the all clear so I can get a start to my day. Although that is looking more and more difficult because apparently the end time is 8:30 when school starts. So I'm not quite sure what kind of start day this is LOL!

Katie I'm glad your freezer appears to be working that is fantastic I love our chest freezer even though we don't use it for half the year because its just the two of us.

Julez good luck on your decision to return to school and become a teacher...I wish you the best and I can't wait to welcome you to the profession.

Oh yeah we have stuffed all our students in the hallway...so yes we have had parents and buses bringing kids during a tornado warning...we won't go into how much that drives me crazy. I grew up in Kansas and I had an F3 tornado go right by a house i was in and blow out all the upstairs windows...I know the destruction they can do...OTTV...I could go on and on about this.

Yes they did and I'm excited I'll be there for part of free dining...and if we're not using any other package deal we should be able to do free dining...hmmm I have to go do some investigating LOL!!!!

Well I don't blame the parents at all because we don't have sirens so there is little to no way to know if we are under a tornado warning unless listening to the radio or watching the tv. What really bothers me is they don't stop buses in the area or things like that...just makes me very very nervous.
