I am here -- my FIL is in town this weekend so it is seriously cutting into my DIS and prep time. I just keep telling myself that this time next week I will be feeling like a kid on Christmas Eve.

Apparently not. When I talked to my own dad tonight, I said something about being overwhelmed and he said, "You've been planning this trip for a year, what more could you have to do?" Can you believe it???

Pfffft.... as LL would say. Some people just don't get it! Although you gotta admit that it is funny when you think about it! We plan for a year and freak out in the week before. Oh well, I wouldn't have it any other way!

The last week of freaking out just makes the time go faster.

The first thing I thought of this morning was, "We are officially a week away!" This was followed quickly by, "I do not want to go grocery shopping this morning!"

See, we are still well rounded people through our dis obsession!! 1 week...so exciting!!!!

I don't think I freaked out a week before my vacation last year. (although now that I think about it, I finished my thesis 10 days before we left and still had a few days of school to go so I didn't have much time for freaking out) For me, I plan and plan and then as it approaches I decide that there is nothing more in my control and I just look forward to it and hope for the best.

Take my wedding for example...I always tell people I loved everything about planning it but the best part was about 2 or 3 weeks before when I got to the point of deciding that everything was in place. It was then that I really started to enjoy the event.

I'm so happy to report that I went to a social gathering last night with my husband involving some alcohol and I ACTUALLY HAD FUN!!! We were home and in front of the bonfire by 10:45!!!!

He only drank 2 drinks!!! I even had one!!!

Could it be that we're truly turning the corner to responsible adulthood with him?! I was really shocked that he restrained himself and that I had fun!!! I mean, he's actually been pretty responsible for about a year now, but I couldn't really believe it! But last night was really fun!!!!

I'm in shock.

As for freaking out on trips, I'm starting to want to really plan so I hope Sept hours come out on June 1st!!! And I'm on my countdown for the ADR's! I want to babble in my PTR..... but I don't wanna jinx the trip so you'll all have to listen to me on here.

For me, I plan and plan and then as it approaches I decide that there is nothing more in my control and I just look forward to it and hope for the best.

I'm glad you had fun! Are Sept hours due out? I thought it was Aug hours that are due out on June 1st. I'll be so excited if Sept hours are coming out!! Then I can really start planning too!

No- I think you may be right. It looks like Aug is already in there!

I believe that the 26th is Jen's b-day and if that's the case I think our only plans so far are *hopefully* dinner at California Grill!

No its September hours we're waiting on trust me I've been obsessing over seeing them come out so I can really start to plan!!! The 26th is the day I arrive, so I'm not sure quite yet what I'm doing, I really want just a relaxing day so maybe a nice dinner in EPCOT of course that means I have to plan ADRs LOL!!!!

And C my birthday is the next Friday on the 2nd and yes we have a date at Cali Grille that night LOL!!!

So I have to go back and read but I wish I had Katie's planning abilities because I'm Compulisve with a captial C and Obsessive until I finally get there LOL...oh great planner Katie...teach me your ways LOL

Too funny! I don't know, it's just a part of who I am (but I can get pretty obsessive in the planning stages!)

The boys and I went to see UP this afternoon. Oh my gosh, that movie is SO good. I thought it would be cute and funny but it turned out to be really sweet and touching too. I went the cheaper way and saw the regular 2D version ($4 more for adults and $2 more for kids) but I kind of want to find a couple hours to sneak away and see the 3D version by myself I was a little bummed because I had heard there was a preview of Toy Story 3 but maybe that was only the 3D version since I think TS3 is also in 3D. Although I am very excited to see that they are making a movie based on "cloudy with a chance of meatballs"...that is one of my favorite stories to read at bedtime.

ALthough there is a Hallowishes that night if I'm not mistaken so we would have to plan around that fireworks time LOL!! I'm so excited!! Yes, I think my 10 days will reach til the 2nd. I can't wait! Is it terribly wrong that from time to time I pull out the Cali Grill menu to decide what I want to order? Tomorrow night sounds good. Although technically Monday is the 1st.... would Disney possibly be so cruel as to make us wait?
