Nobby's Gnomies... heading to WDW in April 2010

I tell you what, all this time waiting for nice warm weather and now that it is here my allergies are so out of control. :headache: And unfortunately I have yet to find a medicine that works AND doesn't give me "medicine head" where I feel all drowsy and out of it. Oh well... still better than snow!

I've had a good weekend. Nice and lazy. Going over to see my mom today. Don't think my furry princess realizes it is mother's day... she's driving me nuts!

Katie - your day sounds great so far! Your boys (Greg incl) clearly adore you! :goodvibes

Jen (MM)- I'm reading a TR and they stayed at All Star Movies -- I think you were asking about it. You can see some pics here.

so on the way over to my parents house today, I was listening to the radio and heard the "be caller 10 now to win" so I picked up my phone and dialed (yes, the radio station is on my speed dial despite the fact that I have only gotten through a small number of times but never the winning one). Call once...busy. Call again...busy. Call again....it rings....the DJ picks up...."You are caller number 10" :cool1: :woohoo:

I won a pair of tickets to see Mama Mia!

I called Greg to tell him and he immediately tells me he has no desire to go. Since the show is in Des Moines, I thought I would call my friend who lives there and invite her since I don't get to see her that often. She said yes and suggested dinner before the show. She is a bodybuilder and frequently is watching every morsel she eats but her last contest is in 3 weeks and she was excited about us going out and eating and drinking together. I was so excited!!

Then I got to my Mom's house and told her. She said she had heard it's a great show and when I told her Greg didn't want to go, her eyes brightened and said "I'll go with you" :headache:

I feel like I should take my Mom and I know my friend would understand but I feel bad (and bummed about not getting to go out with her) I would never have expected my Mom to be interested and we have never done anything like this together. who knows, maybe Mom will suggest dinner before the show too!

Wow, Katie! That's fantastic. Congratulations on the tickets. As well as a few more pounds lost, I see! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Sorry about the connundrum in terms of who to invite. Either way, I'm sure you'll have fun! :goodvibes

Did all the gnomies have a nice weekend? I am suffering through a case of Sunday dread here. That Sunday night pit of the stomach bad feeling when you think about having to go back to work. And that just reinforces for me that I'm not doing the right thing. Not everyone has that-- do they? I mean, I know we'd all like to be independently wealthy and ladies of leisure but work shouldn't make you sick to your stomach... should it? :sad2:

Hi everyone!!

I finished up my 1st working weekend... it wasn't very busy, so it dragged a bit, but all in all it was good:thumbsup2

The girls made me cards for mom's day, and Tom ordered pizza hut for dinner. It was nice that i didn't have to cook...but that said...i wouldn't have cooked anyway.... he would have since I worked :lmao: LOL!!

I found crocs (brand name ones...not knock offs) at Ollie's today...$9.99 a pair! I bought for me, ellie, and allison...the boys don't like them. BUT when I got home...we discovered that ellies were 2 different sizes:scared1: So I have to take them back...oh well :o)

I'm really sleepy...I want to go to bed now...but I have to at least TRY to make it til Amazing race is over since it is the finale.

Cheers!
paula

ummm no. That's why i changed jobs, and so far, I'm enjoying it:thumbsup2 I don't think that will change much (I hope) since my new hospital was voted one of the "Best Places to Work in PA" Everyone else likes it there...why shouldn't I??:thumbsup2

That's fantastic, Paula! I'm so proud of you for making the change. I'm glad it's working out. :goodvibes

Is it September yet? :upsidedow News is starting to get posted about Food & Wine and I am getting excited! :hyper:

Katie, congrats on the tickets!! Sorry about the communication on who to take, sometimes that is hard.

C, I have those days at my job. Especially when I have to ask for unexpected time off or something like that. My boss is not understanding about stuff like that at all. I get anxiety about stuff like that. That being said, I think normally most of my work dread is just the plain ol' fact that I have to work.

I am dreading this week too. I have so much to do and I don't want to do it! :sad1: I keep telling myself in two short weeks I'll be in Disney. :upsidedow

Paula...I forgot to reply to you! :headache:

I plan to go to bed shortly after Amazing Race too. Who do you want to win?

I am so glad the new job is going well!

Have you seen the previews for the new show on ABC Family about gymnastics yet?

Katie, that is too cool about winning the tickets, but what a dilemma!!!

I am so sorry, Christine -- I have Sunday dread sometimes, but never really sick to my stomach and not wanting to go -- especially now, because we are so close to the end.

Ah, I love homemade cards -- I get such a kick out of what the kids come up with. I am so happy that the new job is working out for you!

Is it September yet? :upsidedow News is starting to get posted about Food & Wine and I am getting excited! :hyper:

I have seen that news starting to leak out and it always makes me want to go. I don't know if I can justify it this year with the pay cut though.

I am dreading this week too. I have so much to do and I don't want to do it! :sad1: I keep telling myself in two short weeks I'll be in Disney. :upsidedow

Is it two more work Mondays for you, LL? Just remember that!

I was rooting for tammy and Victor...cause I like them AND they DESERVE to win... I don't like the nasty cheerleaders pfft!

No I haven't seen that show preview...i'll have to check it out :hyper:

Yeah C, I'm there with you! I totally understand the Sunday night dread. At my old job I got that all the time! I like my job now well enough so I don't get the dread, being part-time makes a difference too.

I have always been (a little) jealous of people who love their jobs. I don't ever want to have a job that is my life but I am not one of those people who "have always wanted to..." Part of me wishes I felt some sort of desire to work vs the feeling that I have to work.

Okay gang---there were many things that I wanted to respond to, but have been distracted and so therefore can't remember everything....will try to do my best!!!

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mommies everywhere---I hope we all enjoyed our day today!!! We had beautiful weather here today so Tom and Megs took me to the Reds game.....everything was pretty much taken care of for me today, so I feel pretty pampered. Megs also bought me a beautiful hydrangea plant---I am trying to figure out what to do with it since we will be moving, and I want to take it with me when we go......any good gardeners out there????? HELP!!!!

The house I was speaking about is a market home in a local neighborhood---we like the floorplan, but not the house that is currently available, so I think we are going to look into building it. There is one other floor plan that we like also...so I will try to find both of those plans/elevations and post them here. I will need some input ladies!!!

Speaking of houses.....Paula, I am also dying to hear all about the house you found.....can we see pictures?????

Katie--congrats on the tickets---sounds like you will have fun!

Christine---thanks for the link to that TR---I am going to go searching for pictures!

LL--I know that you must be feeling overwhelmed right now....hang in there kiddo!!! This too shall pass, and then look what you have as your reward!!!! ;)

This is a big week---Megan's graduation on Wednesday!!!! I am stocking up on tissues now!!!! ;)

I keep telling myself in two short weeks I'll be in Disney. :upsidedow
That's the ticket! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

I have seen that news starting to leak out and it always makes me want to go. I don't know if I can justify it this year with the pay cut though.

That is a dilemma. Well, we're just going to have to hope for those big discounts that are rumored! ::yes::

I have always been (a little) jealous of people who love their jobs. I don't ever want to have a job that is my life but I am not one of those people who "have always wanted to..." Part of me wishes I felt some sort of desire to work vs the feeling that I have to work.
Thanks, K! That's exactly it! I've never always wanted to be x (other than the aforementioned independently wealthy & naturally thin ;) ). As a single gal sometimes it does start to seem like work is life so maybe when the family comes my perspective will change. :confused3 I do know how lucky I am to have a job -- a good job, it really is-- in this economy.

Sounds like a great day, Jen! :goodvibes I love hydrangea but unfortunately I'll be no help to you in keeping it alive. :sad2:

Oh! Building a house will be fun! :yay:

Can't wait for pictures of graduation!!

------------------

Have a great day, gnomies!!

Good Morning Gnomies.

Not that I am officially at work today....I can say.....

ONE MORE MONDAY UNTIL DISNEY!!!

Not that I am excited or anything.

Paula, I can't remember what the show is called but it's starting June 22nd I think. After Secret Life of an American Teenager...which I'm addicted too. :rolleyes1

Good Morning Gnomies!!

I hope each of our Gnomie Mommies had a great Mother's Day!!!! Things are starting to wind down here. The NHS banquet went off very nicely and I really enjoyed that. Now I just have to get through our end of the year banquet at church and graduation. I can't wait I really need a vacay and I need summer break it seems real world has invaded my life full force LOL!!!!

Disney on Ice was this weekend and it was fabulous...I will try to post some pictures soon. Nobby had a lot of fun helping me make the shirts...Paula...my little one LOVED her shirt and didn't want to take it off later that night. So you got 2 thumbs up from her!!!

Paula: So glad your first weekend went well at work and I am so happy to hear you are enjoying your job! I wish you a great week!!! (do you still work one week on and one week off?? I don't remember at this moment)

Katie: OOOH...Mamma Mia tickets lucky you!! I'm so excited for you!!! It will be a great show!! I'm sorry about the ticket dilemna but I know you will figure it out and will have a great time with whomever you decide to go.

C: I've been having that Sunday dread a bit too...only because I'm feeling so overwhelmed at the moment. I really do love my job and I can't imagine me doing anything else, but the last month of school is always the worst to get through. I hope you are having a great Monday...and yay to snippets of Food and Wine starting to come out...I can't wait to be there!

LL: Sorry about the foot situation! I hope your new Tevas will help with the heel situation. Trust me foot pain is not fun at Disney at all. I am definitely bringing my pain patches and extra moleskin during this trip LOL!!

Jules: Hope you had a great Mother's Day and you have a great week!

Jen (MM): Glad you had such a wonderful Mother's day with Meg and your husband. I too want to see pictures of the house...sounds like an exciting adventure.

Okay I totally forgot the rest of what I was going to say so that probably means I need to stop typing!!! LOL!!!

Hang in there Jen, the end of the year is in sight and then you will be ours again ;)

So Daniel came running in the kitchen awhile ago and grabs the remote off the table and says "MOM, our favorite movie is on" Sure enough, Alice in Wonderland is on this morning so he and I are eating Pizza for a late breakfast and watching it together :upsidedow What a fun morning!

Hopefully the pictures I ordered last weekend will come in the mail today and I will finally get our Disney trip pictures in an album, I'm so excited!!

:rotfl: I get such a kick out of these ads! Christine, I think this one today must be for you "Everything is Sexier in Paris" :lmao:
