No wishes dessert party January 18th... because there is no Wishes that day?

I was told my a CM on the reservations line that on January 18th there are no Fireworks scheduled, therefore there is no Fireworks dessert party. Why would this be?

Sometimes the park closes early so that private functions like corporate events can be held in the evening. That could be the case here.

WDW online calendar shows MK closing at 6 pm that day. Not sure what's going on...

It's a private event. Can't find any reference as to who it is for, though.
