No walk-ups BOG lunch

People without reservations were turned away for the BOG lunch yesterday. I managed to get a last minute reservation for 1. They were able to add my DH at the podium. I was told that adding 1 was not a problem .. There was no one waiting outside the restaurant at 13:30 and maybe three couples in front of us before we placed our order. We had a wonderful lunch.

Since there are no tables for 1 adding your DH was easier because you were being seated at a 2 top. It is more difficult if an even numbered party wants to add more people because they would need a larger table. which a restaurant might not have available.

I suspect it is a glitch in the system. People were reporting a variety of problems when BOG started accepting lunch reservations and some probably haven't been fixed yet. With BOG one glitch was there were many reservations for 1 made available, but 2 tops are the smallest so it was probably not too hard to add a second person to ADRs for 1 and still not go over the fire code rules.

Since guests choose their tables, is there anything from stopping a single person or a couple from taking a four top? We took a two top but it was in the middle of the floor. If a four top against the wall was open we would have taken that because we really prefer a wall to the middle.

I guess then you could make 2 reservations for 1 and then choose to sit together!

I have been trying to get in with a party of 7 for May, but I think it might be an impossibility at this date.

Maybe you can get 2 smaller parties and sit next to each other.

I would try to split into smaller parties as well. And keep trying! During our stay this week we have seen some ADRs open up. While not an ADR, today we rescheduled a Cinderella FP, but were offered A and E!!! I don't quite know how that happened... But was happy to meet A and E!

The staggered numbers allowed during each time have more to do with fire codes and the maximum capacity allowed in the building at one time. Sometimes, there's just 1 spot available during that time because the rest have been claimed. Sometimes, there isn't.

Last time we were there we were told they allow you to add two at the podium but no more so we were able to dine with friends who had come to town.

I wonder if anyone knows if they are still allowing you to add at the podium? I have gotten myself and my husband in with one reservation, my boys and a girlfriend in with another, and now I have a one person reservation for my son-in-law but can't get my daughter in.
