Someone told me that she bought a special pass that let her go to the front of every line, without a fast pass. Is there such a thing? I can't find anything anywhere that describes such a pass for Disney. They have them at UNiversal and Six Flags and they annoy me.

Nothing like that at Disney. Sorry.

Those can be purchased at the Universal of Orlando parks for only their parks. Disney has Fastpass.

Thanks for the quick reply. I am glad Disney has not added them. I don't like them - it creates two "classes" of park participants. And since we pay enough to enter the parks to begin wiht, why should we have to pay more. I like the Fast Pass system - everyone is equal.

Disney already has 2 classes, those that stay onsite and those that stay offsite. Even if you book a value at 55 anight, you get all the perks. On-site doesn't make sense for everyone, especially when you visit other parks during your stay.

I would like to see it. Some people live close or get great flight deals and can visit a few times (or more) a year while others (like myself) have to connect and pay 750.00 per person just for the flight alone so we only go every other year. For some, its the one trip of a lifetime so they need to see/do it all. I have no problem if people are willing to pay more to have an instant fast pass which is what Universal has. You get FOTL access for each ride but only once, you can't keep going back and using it on the same ride.

Just another way of looking at it :)

I also like the Fastpass system. We are local, so when we splurge and stay onsite it makes us feel special to have the onsite perks. When we go as day guests, we accept that because we aren't spending the extra money to stay in the resorts that we won't have access to those perks. I like the incentives to stay in the resorts... it is good business sense. JMHO!:)

I definitely think that Fastpass is the way to go. I don't like Universal's Premium Express service because it does seperate the guests.

Fastpass puts ALL guest, regardless of where you're staying, and/or how much you've paid on the same playing field. EVERYBODY can take advantage of FastPass.

At Universal if you stay on-site you automatically get FOTL with your room key. I would love DIsney to be able to do that but they have just too many resorts. I know I would get flamed if I were to suggest that FOTL become a perk with deluxe resorts but .....

I don't really understand that. You can get a value for 55.00 a night..hardly splurging. We pay more for staying offsite in a condo. I could understand more if the perks were for those that actually do splurge like a deluxe or DVC.
But you and snacky are able to go all the time, I think that makes a huge difference in your way of thinking. I do understand the perks are good business but we go to 4 different parks now when we go so we can't take advantage of that unless we want to move 4 times, ugh. We stayed onsite the first time and we honestly didn't use many of the perks.

Guess I'm thinking of those first-timer trip reports I've read where its the only time they will get to go and they were not able to everything because of the line-ups. I think its kinda sad. They would have been able to see it all with an express pass.

oh - that would be a good idea! but - Disney has so many resorts, it wouldn't work.

We LOVED FOTL access when we stayed at a Universal resort! You go into the same queue as the Express Pass (their "fast pass"), you just don't have to get a ticket, you can go whenever you want! Love it! A great perk for those staying onsite IMO.

OK ... but if you're on-site, you're much more likely to eat on-site, buy souvenirs on-site, spend more time in the parks and spend more money, etc. Hence, the perk of more time in the parks via EMH. Off-site, you're far more likely to eat at your condo or at a restaurant off Disney property, buy souvenirs at outlets or other shops, and spend time at the beach or other attractions rather than WDW.

I realize that :), I did say that I understood it to be good business...my discussion isn't on whether there should be perks or not, its on being able to buy an express pass. I only mentioned it because the OP said it would divide people up in 2 classes and in my opinion, they already are. I have no issues with perks if you are using their resorts. It was our decision not to because of park hopping and we want space but I really don't find it much cheaper to stay offsite than when we stayed in a value. Well, I suppose it could be if you cooked but ugh,,, not for me, lol :)

I can understand your way of thinking but Disney is trying to give something extra to those who stay in their owned and operated resorts with the EMHs. That way there is more incentive to stay onsite. You will still get to have fastpasses... they are OK for EVERYONE, no matter what type of ticket or where you are staying. BTW, Stackey doesn't live in Florida either.:)

EMH is not a good system as it can be cheated. I have heard claims from people staying off property that hung around during EMH. Hang out in the restroom, a restaurant, stay with the crowds. Don't know how the Universal thing works, but I sure hope that it is better than the EMH "perk" that Disney offers.

The Disney EMH requires you to show a room key and obtain a wristband. While offsite quests may be able to hide out and remain in the park, they are not supposed to be allowed to purchase anything or board attractions without the wristband. It works the same way as MNSSHP and MVMCP.

Disney DOES have a Guest Assistance Pass (I'm not sure this is the exact term) for people who for some reason cannot wait in line. This is usually a medical condition. An example might be a child who has autism and cannot be very close to people due to extreme sensitivity to touch. The child may be able to enjoy some of the rides, as long as they don't have to stay in crowded conditions.

The passes allow the person (and members of the party) to bypass the line.

I believe these passes need a doctor's note to obtain. These passes are not common. You can get more information on the DISabilities forum.

At Universal each party in my family had to show their room key given to them to get the FOTL pass. It worked great for us. We saw everything we wanted to do, and rode our favorite rides many time. It was a big plus on staying onsite, in fact that is the only way I would do it again. Well worth the money spent on hotel prices!!!!

I've gotten one since I have a very bad knee. It does not give you front of the line access. It allows handicap entrance, but there is still waiting. It did let me sit in the handcap seating area at Fantasmic. That was great since I didn't have to walk down all those steps.

The guest assistance pass doesn't allow front of line. It allows guests who may have difficulty waiting in line other options. They still wait, just sometimes elsewhere.

I for one really like FP as well. Sometimes it's a challenge to plan your park strategy w/ FP's to maximize them the best you can, and I LOVE a challenge!!
