No VMK items anymore on Disney Movie Rewards site?

Same here... I didn't even get the Mickey Window. (just to have 1) Hope it's just a little glitch.

I just now bought a movie (which I wanted anyway) but didn't even enter the code yet which would give me a whopping total of 100 points goodbye mickey window, goodbye inferno, goodbye whatever...

Sigh. At least I made it for Inferno for my kid's character, but hadn't made it in time for mine. Drat and double drat.

ditto here. Oh I sure hope they are going to bring the inferno back....just my luck!

VMK is not a "for profit" enterprise, technically. VMK is part of the advertising arm of Disney and therefore only has to prove that they increase sales in a targetted area because of its existence.

Some of you might remember I made a post a while back asking if I should get a second Inferno or wait for something new. I guess this makes my decision a lot easier. I have 500 points just sitting there. And they expire next year, so they better come out with something good worth 500 points.


By the way, why would they get rid of the only things on there that cost them no money?

Every time a kid talks his/her parents into going to Disneyland or WDW because they had fun in VMK, Disney makes money from their free game.

Every POTC DVD, toy, shirt, etc... that gets bought because "it's just like in my game," VMK makes Disney money.

Every pin set that is sold, VMK makes Disney money.

Every DVD that was bought during the last several months "because it has the code," VMK made Disney money.

Disney is GENIUS when it comes to marketing. They know exactly how to turn a free game playing experience into cash flow.

Believe me, if it wasn't making them money, the game would no longer exist.

Agreed, not many have gotten the Window because there was the Inferno and Stitch Helmet. So it will become Rare at sometime.

Well, I was able to get 2 infernos for DMR. I had points for my third, but was waiting for the next item. I didn't like the Mickey Window that much lol, but it was a good trading item

I think I have >1000 points on my primary account @_@ and 5-600 on my other two

Here's me hoping that Red Stitch will come out on the TCG, and that something big will come out via DMR!

So I guess Inferno has gone back into the Vault until it comes out in the next format.

Typically I would agree on their marketing being well planned and thought out but unless something happens in the next 4 days or they extend pirates month (which would not at all surprise me) this move changes my movie purchase plans a bit. Less purchases or different purchases for me. the move doesn't really bother me though but I can't say I am unaffected.

Sounds like they are removing VMK from DMR completely. Hopefully that means that we'll get Flying Carpet some other way.

That's good to know. I'd be really disappointed in VMK if they chose to release that item through the movie rewards program. There's so much hype over it, they have to be super careful in how it is released. He did say there'd be more about it at the end of the month though, right? This is shaping up to be a pretty big yavn speaks if he does touch on all the things i hope he would!

I am curious about why the rewards were removed entirely. Maybe it didn't translate as much to DVD sales, but instead ebay sales? I guess its fairly easy to track account use and how/where/when items were redeemed.
