This past May, we watched Wishes for the first time, and Tink didnt show up before hand. Is she ONLY before Spectro, or did I miss something?? It was between May 10-24th of this year. Thanks to anyone who has an explanation:)

Tink won't fly if there is bad weather or even the threat of it, or if it is too windy! Were any of these conditions present? Hope this helps!

That's right. I'm friends with Tinkerbell, and she is really picky about her flying conditions. It has to be just right, or she will not fly. That means it can't be raining or too windy. It does stink though; I think seeing Tinkerbell makes the whole day complete.

One of the CMs at CRT told me that they weigh Tinkerbell before each flight, and if she's had just a little too much to eat, she can't fly. Also, DS worked with Tinkerbell at DL this summer and the harness (at least in DL they have to have a harness) is often tempramental, doesn't always slide right. One night she actually got stuck 1/2 way down, they turned off the lights and tried to lower her without anyone noticing. Since then, they've been real cautious about having everything perfect for her to fly.

Here's a pic from last January of Tink that I was able to get. Enjoy.

Harness? Since when does Tink need a harness? You must be thinking of someone else! ;)

I hate to burst your bubbles, but according to the tour, Tink has to weigh less than around 105 lbs. She goes out through the window being shoved by 2 other people. She ends up totally out of the Magic Kingdom on a mattress on a roof. She will only fly when the weather is very good. I think she gets a full days pay for the less than an hour she puts in.

It put the whole event into perspective.

Tink flew Monday night.

Remember it may be TinkerBell or TinkerBill, but no matter who, the conditions have to be right or no flight.

In all the times I have been to Disney (8) I have only seen Tink fly once that was this june.

Sorry you missed her, I have been about 10 times in the last 6 weeks and she didn't appear only once

hahaha! :rotfl2: It would be so funny to see tinkerbell just stop right in the middle of her "flight." Would suck for kids though.

105lbs ?! Sheesh ...I can only wish !! Don't know too many full grownn adults that weigh only 105 pounds !!

They shove her? Who's shoving her? I'll kick them where the sun doesn't shine!! :badpc:

In Wishes, Tink doesn't fly at the very beginning. It's near the beginning, but she doesn't start things off like she did with Fantasy in the Sky. If you didn't watch the whole thing (looking where Tink normally flies) you may have missed her.

Well, the one in Disneyland has to wear a harness. You know, I'm wondering if that one over there is real. After all, the real one is always at WDW, so how does she get all the way to California to fly?

The best idea, I have learned from experience, is to NOT tell people about it ahead of time. Don't even talk about it. If it happens, it will be a wonderful surprise - and if it doesn't, then people won't be not enjoying the fireworks because they are waiting for Tink who may not appear.

Just some well-earned advice, hehe. ;)

We were at WDW the same time you were, May 14th - 18th, and we saw Wishes twice while we were there. One time she flew and the other she didn't. The night when she didn't fly, dark clouds were coming in, and you could see lightning off in the distance. The night she did fly, it was cloudless. So I'm guessing the weather played a part.
