No tags - Disney messing up my holiday...

We have been staying at Disney for quite a few years and I have had a profile set up the website too - but for some unknown bizarre reason, Disney has my profile all wrong.
I made reservations for March 7-16th back late December. At that first call, the address on file was that of our friends who I had booked rooms for last March under my name. So it gets corrected - supposedly. I also booked us for magical express and give them flight details etc. Our friends do the same.
I get that wonderful email code for 40% off and call several times to see if I could get it applied to my reservation. I probably called about 4 different times, again, 3 out of 4 times the same address of our friends turns up - it's corrected each time and I'm thinking this is really weird that it wasn't fixed the first time. Anyhow no luck with the code.
So, it's 2 weeks today and no magical express tags. :confused:
I call Magical express and she can't find me under my name and she has to pull me up using a confirmation # and then transfer my reservation into the ME system. She tells me that I can still use the ME system as probably too late to get tags now - I tell her, I booked this in December, no reason for delay , she reports that they have had problems with Canadian addresses that have no provinces entered and the tags are then considered undeliverable and not sent. So she looks at my address and again, it's my friends!:headache: She corrects it and enters province and country etc and makes a notation that I have called and this is the current address. So, I tell her that is unusual as we have used ME 3 times previously and received our tags in the mail - first time I called as it was cutting close and they Express shipped the tags to me and I ended up getting the original ones too. This doesn't make sense, but anyhow, she has corrected it. so, I check my friends profile too for tags and the same thing - but they have the correct address but no Ontario or Canada entered. So, something is goofy with Disney's CRO as I have never moved and I've been booking trips for years.

Anyhow, Etta promised me the tags will be Express mailed :cool1: and I should have them in time. Dropping off those bags at the airport and then finding them in the room is the best feature!!!

My advice for a fellow Canadian is to call Magical Express 1-866-599-0951 and make sure they have you in the system correctly as she reported that this error has happened quite a bit due to the failure of entering the correct address, specifically the province and country. Dummies...:rolleyes1

I just got my pkg yesterday but no yellow ME tags
guess it's going to be tooo late for me to. If I don't have them do I have to pick up my own baggage ?
I was looking forward to this being taken care of--I booked last Sept .
 
I also had an issue with ME. The first time the province, postal code, and country were missing from my address so the package couldn't be delivered. I called the ME number and had it sent again but this time they got the country wrong! I called again and the tags were expressed shipped. I finally received them a few days later.
 
The pkg said I'd have the tags 45 days before my trip but there's no way
that's going to happen.:sad2:
I'm going to try calling:hourglass is running out
 

On the phone to ME --they didn't have me in their system--not sure how that can be when I booked my ressie I gave them all the flight info in Sept---
they said they would try to fast track them out to me but if I don't get them in time I'll have to go to the ME welcome centre in Orlando and have the the bags tagged there--crazy---:sad2:Thanks for the #:hug:
 
You'll find the tags will arrive quickly. We lost our tags (discoverd this about 7 days before our trip last Fall). We called DME, and they advised it was too late to send tags ("they won't arrive in time"). We asked them to send the tags anyway, just in case. Two days later, the tags arrived.


I think sometimes DME forgets the tags are sent via Federal Express.
 
I too just found out our tags have been returned to Disney.

I called to see where they are and they blamed it on UPS and said they were undeliverable!

I said we have lived in the same house for 12 years and receive all our DVC mail and confirmations here so this is UPS's problem.

They are going to resend but will not guarantee they will arrive before we leave next Friday.

These are for my Mom who is meeting us at the resort.

Now it looks like she has to go to a check in counter at the airport, give her baggage claim tags and they will find here bags and deliver to resort. This is a pain and needs to get sorted out at Disney's end!!
 
I see nothing has changed in a year. Last Feb we were booked to go with ME (we booked in August) and we never ended up getting the tags - when I called they said I didn't need them and not to worry. So we went without them.

Mark your bags with something special and unique. What will happen is you will leave your luggage and go to the ME desk. You will have to trust that they find your bags and load them on the ME busses to take to your resort. Thank goodness I tied ORANGE RIBBON on all of ours. Otherwise, they look like everyone elses. They get you to describe your bags so they can find them (uh, black, square, zippers.....) so you need to tie something or put something on it that you can identify it with so they can find it easy!!
 
i didn't get my tags last year and they had no problem finding my luggage . another idea is to take a picture with you of your luggage and give that to them its alot easier then trying to tell them what they look like
 
We had problems getting DVC to change our address - took 2 months, many calls and then on our actual trip in October we had to change our address at all 3 resorts we went to! Was frustrating! Thank goodness we had the ME tags sent to the IL's since we knew we were moving right around the time we were to get them and they were coming with us!
 
Not to worry

Upon arrival, head to Level 1 in the main terminal/Side B
Hand over your airline baggage receipts to the Disney Rep. They will then collect your bags and you WILL see them in your Resort room!:thumbsup2
 
We used Magical Express in October and had no problems at all. We booked ME about 3 monthes before our flight and everything came; including the tags. Our luggage was in our room about 4 hours after we got there.
 
Well, we got a call from United parcel last night who were trying to arrange for delivery on Monday for a parcel from WDW travel no less!
So, it appears we are set with the proper tags after my call to ME.
I am fully aware that we could have still used the ME without the tag package - but this is much less of a hassle and afterall this is the way it's suppose to work and has worked on our previous trips. My frustration has been with Disney losing/rearranging some of my profile which has never been an issue for the past 16 years of going there and we have never moved.
Anyhow, I just wanted to share my experience so that others that are patiently waiting for their package and time is drawing near to have at least a chance to try and get the proper tags and experience the full ME experience. My advice is if your trip is 2 weeks away and still no ME package, give ME a call and see if one was sent or declared undeliverable due to lack of address details.
