I just got my card last year so only got to do it once. Bummer.

:( I got $90 in credits last year. Kind of a bad time for Amex to be disappointing customers.

sad to see this benefit come to an end, I have used it that last 3 years. :-(

No!! How disappointing!! Between my DH, SIL and I, we had over $100 in credits. We spent most of it at the local small business beer store and didn't have to buy any beer for over 6 months. What a letdown! :(

Didn't do it last year as the credit was only $10 for each purchase. In the past when it was $25 both DH and I made sure to make a local purchase each to get the credit. We both work on Saturdays and have some other weekend obligations, so didn't have a lot of time to run around making several purchases. Glad some of you got to take advantage of multiple purchases!

I wonder if others didn't use it last year like we did, so they saw a drop off in participation? We had used it for the $25 credit for a few years before last year.

I heard the exact opposite on another forum that I play on. rumor has it that black Friday bloggers spread the word and American express got way more participation than they wanted. not use how true that is but I am disappointed in seeing it go. I enjoyed using it.

A big part of the issue was that the store participation list was not correct, causing thousands of calls for credit and basically creating a mess. It took awhile to get my purchases straightened out, but it did work out at the end. I would think with the negative publicity due to the Costco loss, they would want something to promote their brand.

Last year we were in WDW over Thanksgiving weekend and saw that Earl of Sandwich was on the list. Between DH's 4 Amex and my 3 we wound up purchasing $210 in EoS gift cards. We got the statement credits for all $210. We used the gift cards plus our AAA card for an additional 15% off EoS during our frequent weekend getaways to WDW. Sad to see small business Saturday go away :-(

I have had several great offers from Amex this year, including spending $500 at Target and getting $150 back. So while I will miss the small business one, I'm still happy with AmEX.

We had $270 in credits last year. Loved it! Too bad they are discontinuing it but I agree that the Amex offers are very good. There is a new one I saw yesterday, $30 back on a $150 Undercover Tourist purchase. We have it on a few of our cards. Looks like we may buy some 4 or 5 day tickets to keep for a future trip.
