No space available on Pirate Cruise--is there any hope?

I just tried to reserve a spot for my daughter on the Pirate Cruise and there isn't any space left during any of the days we will be there. Is there any hope that someone would cancel and we could take their spot? Anyone know how we could keep on top of cancellation/openings?

I would have booked this awhile ago, but I only just learned that it even existed last night (and I've done so much research for this trip!). It looks like a lot of fun and was something affordable---I'm really disappointed. Thankfully, I didn't mention it to my daughter before I tried to book it---

I called first thing every morning when we were there. + if you get to the dock some times there are kids that won't get on the boat,or don't want to go. Its alot of fun my son loved it pirate:

I would try back daily. My kids got spots one year the day before they went. Did you look into the other kids activities.
cooking adventures
tea parties or new boutique

I wouldn't try the dock - its a lot of standing around and the two trips my kids have been on didn't have extra room - well, one did, but they thought the little girl whose spot it was might get on at the last minute, so she didn't give up her spot to the people waiting. By the time it was obvious to mom that no coaxing would get her on the boat, it was time to sail. I'd think your chances there are slim and it would likely be disappointing for your daughter.

You can call frequently, its a deposit event, so the day before will be the last time for cancellations.

If this is your first trip, there is so much to do that you won't miss the pirate cruise. I sort of regret our second cruise - the first one was good - although we ended up missing MGM completely because we ran out of time. The last trip I think the kids would have rather had more park time or another day at the water park - you are giving it an entire morning of a vacation. My kids - at six and seven - seemed a little old for it this time - they just weren't nearly as excited as they were by most of the rest of the trip.

Can you please tell me about this Pirate Cruise? What park is it from? I can't find it on the Disney website.

Thanks

The kids are given bandanas and lunch, and are taken on a pontoon boat in search of "Pirate treasure", which is a small bag of plastic trinkets.

You can find a brief blurb about it on this page at WDWIG:

There are now two and soon to be thre "Pirate" cruises.

The first sails from Grand Floridian
Second is the Albatross cruise, and sails from the Beach Club
Third will sail from the Caribbean Beach Resort

I'm sure if you do a search on the forums, you can find more detailed info.. I'm looking forward to my 7 yo doing this on our trip this fall. It will be his first trip to WDW, and I think he'll love it, as he's all into pirates right now.. pirate:

There are now three Pirate Cruises - one from the Grand FLoridian marina, one from the Yacht Club Marina and one from the Carribean Beach resort marina. Did you try all three of them?

Don't give up. Make sure you keep checking back every few days for cancellations. For our trip last October, I tried for two months to get a spot for my son on one of the pirate cruises and they were always booked up. The day that we arrived, on a whim I checked at the concierge desk at the hotel and they actually had an opening for the next day. Apparently someone had cancelled at the last moment. Also make sure you are checking all the options, there are three different kids pirate cruises. The reservation people are not always aware. I had to argue with one, she insisted that there was no such thing as Albatross Cruise.

Did you ask about the Albatross cruise too? Its the same type of thing, but it launches from the BC and cruised, there. Last summer, when I called about the pirate cruise which was filled, we were offered this one and our son had a blast!

When are you going? I'm about to cancel 2 children. It would be nice if your dd could take their spot.

We'll be there from 3-13-3/20, looks like you'll be there later, though. Thanks anyway!
