No rooms for late oct and november?

Was wondering the same thing. I'm booked at Yacht Club December 2-9 of this year, and I just went online to check about room upgrades - EVERY WDW property (except Copper Creek Villas) is booked.

So... Should I expect Christmas/New Year's-like crowd levels for the 1st week of December? I'd never expect 0 wait times for WDW anymore, but for EVERY property to be booked solid for that first week? Really??

I've been going the first week of a December for years and onsite is always fully booked. Pop Warner is that week and they take alot of value and moderate rooms. I suspect less people stay offsite during this time in favor of being onsite for the decorations. I'm going the same dates as you and Touring Plans is showing 4s and 5s.

No.
It has been talked about a lot. The Fall is the new High Season. It is NOT a special event.
There really is no quiet time anymore.

Actually, there is an event that weekend...the Wine and Dine half marathon. Combine that with the holiday switch, party season and Jersey week, and you have a perfect storm.

We have better chance over Christmas Dec 24-31 to book at room Onsite then we do Oct-Nov. Does that mean the Parks in Oct-Nov will be packed and over Christmas the crowds will be less cause everyone went in Oct-Nov??

Nobody knows really. People are just basing on other people saying it was packed last few years. Then other people say it was fine.
Everyone's experience will vary, just know it won't be low crowds. :)

October resorts are booked (most anyways), yet by a lot of accounts, it's been surprisingly easy to get all fast passes (including FOP) - I was just changing my FOP this morning and there were still slots available. And again today I had to change an ADR for Halloween night and still tons of restaurants available.

We are going in the middle of October. Originally I booked it at a split stay at the same resort - I could get Friday - Monday but not Thursday - Monday. I kept checking and was eventually able to book the entire stay on the same reservation. Maybe try splitting it up.

I have found it to be increasingly difficult to find vacancy at WDW. I would like to go back and stay a couple of nights at the BWI. It has been about 5 years since we have stayed at the Boardwalk. Every time I look online there are no vacancies for standard rooms. Once or twice I was offered a deluxe concierge room but that just wasn't in the budget. The standard rooms have gotten expensive enough. I guess the problem is that I am not trying to plan one+ year out. It is usually more of a last minute thing, maybe looking a month or two out. Of course the web site doesn't make it very easy to search for a couple of open days. Maybe I need to try and call Disney. I can be flexible on the exact days. Perhaps they have better tools to search for open days.

While it appears that the WDW resorts are more frequently full I can say that the neighborhood where I snowbird still exhibits a seasonal ebb and flow of short term rentals. So even if the resorts are full it doesn't necessarily mean that the parks will be packed.

Also remember some rooms are not available due to renovations going on at the resorts.

Sometimes, there are rooms available on Orbitz, when Disney shows zero availability.

Orbitz also has promo codes, usually for 15% discount; check for "deals" on their site. There is an Orbitz warning though - they charge a $50 cancellation/change fee.

Biggest beneficiary of fully booked onsite WDW resorts? Off-site hotels/resorts. I expect those prices have also increased as each day passes for this fall.

We are going November 1-10 staying at Yacht Club and it has been fully booked for that time frame for a few months I think. Planning on it being really busy while we are there, which sort of sucks since it is such an expensive trip.
