No Room at the Fort in early December :(

My husband and I are staying at the Boardwalk in early December and I thought it would be nice to have my parents join us in their RV at Fort Wilderness. I logged on today and tried to make reservations for December 6-10 and found only partial hookups available. I know Disney lodging fills up quickly, but I really thought I could get them an RV site 6 months in advance. Is there a big event happening during that time? Do you think I should make them a reservation off property somewhere, or do you think a site will open up before December?

I had the same problem when I booked our Nov. trip. Someone here told me to try booking a longer stay so I booked 3 weeks and it was avaliable. We've since had to cancel that trip but the plan was to call and cancel only the days we did not need. Seems the reservation system holds some sites for longer bookings.

I did as you suggested and booked the site from December 6-22nd. One day less and there was no availability again. How strange! Thanks for the tip.

I see that you were able to get a site if for any reason this doesn't work out let me know. I am getting married that week and typically my grandparents bring their motorhome so I have sites reserved but they are no longer using them so I have a site I need to be used for our room block for the wedding.
