Anyone else out there that doesn't have a problem with school and teachers? I'm starting to feel a little weird around here. :confused3

I'm weird too. Generally speaking, but in this case too.

:lmao:

Nope, no problems at the moment. We had a bus issue / miscommunication on days one and two, and I don't agree with some of the PTA budgetary line items, but for the most part, we are problem-free. I am a "go with the flow as long as the kids seem o.k." kind of mom, so I am unlikely to make a stink unless I see real great harm to my child.

Nope, everything right as rain here. DS IEPs are followed to the letter and DS school is proactive in regards to buying adaptive technologies and things like that. Therapists are top notch and easy to contact.

Which is why I will never move from this school district. I know how good I have it.

It's all good in our little corner of the Educational World as well. DS seems to be settling in to his new school/new routine, and NONE of the 'stuff' we had heard about his teacher appears to be true.

We're also pretty go with the flow unless something is REALLY BLATANTLY at issue.

Talk to me again in November, and we'll see.

Nope, we're fine. Fortunately, DD6 has a teacher who believes in Disney trips. :goodvibes

Of course, she told us that DD6 is extremely intelligent, but is only doing enough work to get by. Hmmmm. It took me until 6th grade to learn that trick. Fortunately, we can now nip it in the bud, so to speak

We're good here too. We had a few communication issues last year (in Pre-K, different school). But so far our first year of public school is going really well! :thumbsup2

I worked a clerical position at a local high school during the late 80s/early 90s, while going to UCLA. One thing I noticed...

The parents of the straight A students with good attitudes, never went into complain...

I'm good with dd's teacher and school. Can't stand the office manager, but thats not a big deal. I dont have to deal with her very often.

3 Children and they each have awesome teachers! :cheer2:

well, the homework load is pretty heavy but that isn't anything new.

Also, the soccer coach just added 2 more tournaments to the schedule which means another month.

But overall -- things are going ok this year. :)

Get involved- go to meetings, volunteer, make your voice heard- they wont change if you dont make some noise.

This is a good thing to feel kinda weird about! :)

No problem with the teachers or school this year. Only minor complaints not worth mentioning (my DD has some teachers with very heavy southern accents that she's having problems understanding) and one major complaint about the whole district-huge classes. My DD has a French class with 35 students in it. That, IMO (and in her teacher's opinion as well) is impossible for a foreign language class.

Well, ironically, yesterday changed it for me because my 15yo dd witnessed an assault by a teacher onto a student within 10 feet of her. :guilty:

I was going to post it here, but it has been resolved. I don't want to go into details because of privacy concerns, but I think the school/staff handled it well.

No problems here. Everythings great!!! I've never had any problems with any teacher of DD12 or DS8. They've all been great - so have the schools!!

nope no issues here this year. Im thrilled now that they are in the right school. It was a rocky road getting them in but now that they are I couldnt be happier :)

Just went to Open House last night. Both of my younger 2 have teachers who are new to me and they both seem great. I love our elementary school and 99.9% of the teachers there. The school, as a whole, always ranks high in the state and national testing. The teachers are, for the most part, friendly, understanding, reasonable and dedicated to their profession. In fact, one of our first grade teachers just won Walmart's 2006 New Jersey Teacher of the Year!
