Have you noticed how quiet the boards have been in the last 24-36 hours.

I heard on the Weather Channel that many cities on the Gulf Coast - Mobile, Pensacola, Fort Walton and others - are without electricity.

No Juice = No Internet.

Lets all continue to pray for our friends that are dealing with the aftermath of Ivan and hope they get their lives back to some semblance of normal soon.

We lost power for a few hours overnight here in Atlanta. We woke up when we realized the ceiling fan in our room wasn't on. I went downstairs to turn off the PC. The battery backup was working wonderfully, but I didn't want he battery to drain and then find out the hard way if the automatic shutdown feature works well or not.

Our power was back on by the time we woke up this morning, so no big deal for us!

I'm in midtown Atlanta and we lost power yesterday at 2 and it finally came back at midnight. Of course we had no phone which meant no DSL. We got phones back about 30 minutes ago. Some people may have power but not phone lines or cable.

I live just SE of Atlanta and we never lost power or had any real damage, thank goodness!:bounce:

I know there are many people I work with who live on the north side that lost power last night and didn't get it back until today.

Let's hope that is the last one we see for a while!

We lost power yesterday afternoon for about 3 hours. It came on for a couple of hours and at 7:59 (just before the start of Survivor :( ) we lost it again for the night. It came on this morning and then we lost it for a hour this afternoon. All in all no big deal...we are thankful that it all that happened to us. So many people were devasted by this storm. I pray for the people who lost family and friends from the tornadoes and those in the panhandle that were wiped out.

As of about 8:00pm tonight my in-laws in Crestview still say that power is out in their area north of US 90. A neighbor has a generator that they were going to bring over for several hours to get the fridge cold so the frozen food wouldn't thaw.

From what I can tell on the Weather Channel tonight, MANY people near the Gulf are without power and they are saying it might be several WEEKS before everyone has power again. :sad1:

CM MOM-- I'm glad your in-laws are ok. Mine in Freeport are also fine. They planned to ride out the hurricane but my sis-in-law convinced them to evacuate. They said their house is intact but they have a lot of cleaning up to do around their property. They were without phone service until today around noon. I'm not sure about their power . . .
