I was aware they didn't do fireworks but I just called DCL to ask what night Pirates night was on and she said it wasn't on the Itinerary. Can someone confirm this? I need to know whether or not to bring this stuff and my luggage is limited as it is. I will be disappointed if they don't have it as I have already planned for it and so will my little girl.

Too bad but I'm not surprised as they bill it Pirates IN the Caribbean... Have a great trip! I'm trying to figure out when we can make that trip happen. I wish summer was longer. I remember it being close to 3 months, now it seems closer to 2 months these days. :(

We probably won't know until the first cruisers report back in May. They did have it without the fireworks last year.

I would think DCL would know. I say wear you pirate stuff anyway! :stir:

And we are on the cruise after that...ARGH! LOL
I know they had them last year but they said they debated having them this year and aren't on the itinerary. Hoping "they" are wrong...lol

When I called last week to ask what day the pirate party would be, the DCL rep I spoke with said "There is no pirate night on the Alaska cruises."

I didn't question her, but she sounded very sure in her response.

I'm not surprised. We cruised Alaska last year, and it just didn't seem very pirate nighty with us being in Alaska. I thought it was just too cold on deck in the evening to have the party. I didn't even go..... We sailed one of the last Alaskans so it probably was the warmest. I'm guessing that based on last year, without the fireworks, they decided that it was just too cold to even bother.......

We are on the first Alaska Cruise and we've been told there is one on day 4.

No pirate menu though its taste of alaska instead.

I will be watching closely so I can plan for our outfits! LOL :)

I'm taking an eastern Caribbean cruise and online on the cruise activities page pirate night is listed along with my port stops so I would think if the Alaskan one had one then it would be listed there.

It's also listed on the cruise activities page for the NYC to Canada cruise.;)

..me either..too cold and windy on deck..

Are you on the May 28th one or the one that is sailing there the week before May 28?

FWIW, we cruised last year in late May to Alaska on DCL. There WAS a pirate night that was exactly as Chilly stated. Taste of Alaska menu. Pirate Party on deck. We went. It was fun. No fireworks due to environmental issues.

I would recommend you make your OWN pirate night if there is none scheduled. We happened to cruise during the PremiEAR of Pirates of the Caribbean IV and dressed up to go to the movie. We did not attend the Pirate Party on deck, (too cold), so that was our pirate fun!

That's strange...on the May 24th one, the party was inside. The weather wasn't bad, I was just under the impression that they were also under noise restrictions? It was a lot of fun, but *very* crowded in the atrium.

We were on the Alaskan cruise the second week of June last year and loved Pirate night. It was a little chilly but we were comfortable in wind breakers. Unlike the mobbed Pirate Parties we have been on in the Caribbean, this party was lightly attended with lots of room for everyone. I can see why they might not have them again this year but we had so much fun not be run over by a ton of other people.

Queenbee, if you don't leave until June 4th, the cruisers on the first Alaska cruise will be back and should be able to give you an answer on this. There are two leaving before yours, and I'm sure someone here can post after the 28th to let everyone know. We're on the one that leaves on the 28th, so I won't be any help to you since you'll be boarding the same day we depart, but I'm sure someone will be kind enough to help you out!

We are sailing in August and I was told no Pirate Party for Alaska...

When did you ask? It seems like the info coming from DCL is inconsistent since some of us have heard that there will be and some have heard that there won't.
