Called today, I don't have a pin, but the CM kept trying to get me to cancel my room only reservation and make it a package. I told her I would if there was a discount because right now I have AAA discount. She kept saying if I canceled and made it a package I would save more then my discount. She wasn't getting it!

Just figured it out, if I changed to the package she wanted me to change to, it would have cost me $535.95 more then I am currently paying

Christine,
Sorry that you didn't have a pin. Was she trying to sell you on a dining plan with your package?

Good Luck!

Right; she's using the "Disney Math" that they advertise to "save 40% on food when you use the dining plan"!

Of course, that only works if you eat the way the plan is designed. We don't, never get the plan, and are just as happy.

Also, she could not book a package for you with a AAA discount on the room portion. If you want to keep your AAA discount and get the dining plan, you should book it through AAA.

I am hoping for a room only discount, there dining doesnt work for us either

Room discount works better for us too since we're staying at CR with 3 Disney adults and don't eat enough to benefit from the "Disney math."

Going with my best friend in may...

I just called and I have no pin :( My best friend is calling to see if she has a pin on her profile. *fingers crossed*

When I was calling about rooms with the room-only pin I have, they kept trying to sell me a package. Not when I'm stay at BWI. No thank you.

I realize the CM's not wanting to waste their time with someone not booking or changing their reservation, but I had to tell this one atleast 5 times I was not interested in booking a package unless it was a better deal for me. She also told me I would have to cancel what I have and rebook the package, which I know I don't have to do. I kept trying to politely end the call since I wasn't getting anywhere but frustrated with her.

The other thing is, a couple times I have called to ask about a pin, I was told I would receive something my email or snail mail and I tell them I have had pins before and never received any info about it, only way I knew was from calling.

If you went from a room only booking to a package, you would have to do that -- unless you paid the funds on your room only by check.
And AAA packages do have to be booked through AAA.
So you would not even be booking a AAA package by calling Disney.

Several times I have been able to turn my room only reservation into a package without completely canceling my current reservation, with that being said, I do not want to book a package, I am waiting for a room only discount or pin if you read above. At no point in my previous posts did I say I was trying to book a AAA package thru Disney, I know that can not be done.

I called the other day to see if I had a pin (which I didn't) and a very pushy CM was trying to get me to book a package with dining. He took the liberty of calculating out a cost for a package with dining and 9 day hopper tickets without even asking me what kind or how many days I would even need. I told him IF we end up with some sort of discount then we would want room only but he was trying very hard to get me to book a $4500 package (8 days at a moderate, regular dining, 9 day hopper, 4 adults) because it was such a great deal.

That is exactly what the CM did I spoke to, as weird as it is, I am so glad it didn't only happen to me, but it makes me think, if the they are trying to tell us something about an upcoming discount and wanting us to book ahead.

I never got pins (mail, email, or calling) so instead we just bought DVC. I am going to go there regardless so now I can go more often :thumbsup2....however, I am just waiting for them to finally send me a pin because you know that is what will happen:rotfl:. I also need to add that no matter how many times I signed up for email on the Disney page, I have yet to receive any email from them.....I don't get it:confused:

I would love to buy into DVC, we have looked into it several times, but I have been told we can't afford it. I keep trying to get my dad to spend his "extra money" and buy into it, we could all use it:confused3

Hang in there! I wanted to buy DVC since 1997 on my honeymoon. We were finally able to afford it financially this year!!! I had all but given up hope that we would get one (or pins for that matter) and hubby said we could! Keep the faith and you may be able to afford it one day too :)...now no more pin code stress!!!!

Thanks, I figure, I have the AAA discount, a better discount will be nice, but if not I have what I can afford for now
