No One Loses Weight Like Gaston - November 2015 W.I.S.H Challenge

My Woo-Hoo Wednesday is pretty exciting for me. I stepped on the scale after my run today and it showed a 2.5 pound loss. Now, granted, it was post run, and therefore likely artificially low, but I have not been able to make it move in a loooong time. Even after my 13 mile run Sunday, my weight stayed the same. Even if it is a .5 pound actual loss, I'll take it!

My Woo-Hoo Wed is that I haven't been tempted to buy reduced price candy and gave all the left over desserts to family after a special family dinner last night. If it's not in the house, I won't be tempted. And I'm fitting into my favorite pair of jeans I bought last Fall, after not being able to zip them when I pulled out my Fall clothes in September!

. My go-to cheat treat is always something sweet...cookies, candy, cupcakes. You name it, I love it.

I'm the same way. I have to just walk quickly past the sweets/treats aisle at the grocery store.

Even if it is a .5 pound actual loss, I'll take it!

Any loss is a good loss -- congrats :D

Isn't that the best feeling? You may not see it in the mirror but you see it in all of the little things.

Woohoo Wednesday - My magic bands shipped today for our December trip. Yay!! :flower1:

Your trip is quickly coming up - yay! When do you anticipate your Magical Express documents to show up? Our trip is December 18-23rd, so we're getting close to having Magic Bands ship and getting all of the documents.

the second Woo hoo is that I made it to the gym!

YEAH! Work it out. Work it out. Work it out. You go! :D

Question of the Day - November 4

It's WOOHOO Wednesday!

Share your woohoo for today - no celebration is too big or too small.

PS: Thanks everyone for your patience in answering questions. Being on the left coast makes it hard :(

It's finally cold in Southern California - yeah! We're in the midst of a cold spell. It's a freezing/chilly 67 degrees outside.... it's starting to feel like Fall.

Just now catching up -- it's been really busy over here trying to get ready for our WDW trip this weekend. Every spare minute has been dedicated to making our costumes for the 5K! So that's definitely my woo hoo today-- We will be leaving for Disney in about 48 hours, my costume is complete, and DH's is looking good so far. Finishing touches to be finished tonight!

Another woo hoo is that we actually got in a practice run this week. I've been doing indoor training, but not actually on the street.... Unfortunately, we did not do the run fast enough outside and I'm worried we won't make pace for the race. But I've done two 5K's recently within the time (I'm a power walker occasional light jogger due to some hip issues) so I think it was just a bad, hot and sticky, too dark (grrr time change!) night. I'm hoping that the cooler air at Disney, plus Disney atmosphere, and Disney race, and Disney costuming will shave off those pesky two minutes.

If I don't get swept from the race that will be my woo hoo next Wednesday! :rotfl:

My woohoo is that it's knitting group night! I go on Wednesdays and Fridays, and it's a great way to de-stress and forget about work for a while :)

Second woohoo is that I am actually going to go to the gym today :D I missed the alone time yesterday a lot more than I thought I would.

Hi! I just stumbled across this post, and wondered if it's too late to join?? I love this idea! If like to join with a goal of a 7 lbs loss for November!

It is never too late to join. Our first weigh-in deadline is this weekend, so make sure you post your total before Sunday so I can update the results on Monday. YAY.

Mine, too! So excited for our first December trip!

Hey all! My woohoo for today?? Hmmmm.... one month until DD is HOME!! ...............

Oh, that's the best woo-hoo -- I missed my daughter when she was away at college. It was just my husband and son at home -- it was pretty quiet around here! Enjoy!

Not trying to be nosy, but what time are you worried about keeping? A lot of people don't realize that they usually don't sweep for the 5k, except removing people who request it for medical/injury reasons. As someone who was scared of being swept for my first half, I know it can really affect your experience of the race if you are constantly worried about the sweepers. So if you are close to the 16 min/mile they say they require, i wouldn't worry too much! Its a long story I won't go into here, but it took my dad over an hour, and plenty of people finished after him too.

I often think I should take up knitting. It would be something to do with my hands instead of reaching for cheese and crackers, or some other treat I don't need at night. How did you find a group?

Oh that's so good to hear! Since they said the pace was 16 min/mile, we were trying to be right under that (finishing it about 49 min). I read on one of the boards here that they got swept (not a 5K though, I think the half) and they were devastated and that got me worried!!! I mean usually I don't freak out about 5Ks at all, but after reading that, it got me nervous that Disney meant business about that 16 min/mile!

We finished in 52 minutes and that was with me talking at a stray cat for a little bit and checking out a house for sale in the neighborhood (LOL!). So we are pretty darn close (and this is at a comfortable pace, not stressing and huffing etc.). Anyway, I had no idea that don't really sweep the 5K and that makes me feel sooooo relieved! Thank you for letting me know!!!

Maybe someone on this thread can help besides me, I've never done the Jingle Jungle 5k, so I suppose there is a chance it is different. But I can definitely tell you 52 minutes would not get you swept at the Princess race in February. My dad took well over an hour in 2014, and my 7 year old, myself and my mom did the 5k this year for Princess weekend, and I think we were over an hour too. We stopped for lots of pictures, which takes time. If you are worried you could pop onto the wine and dine race thread and clarify there. I am sure someone could put your mind at ease. I would want to know what the usual practice is, because I do like to stop for pictures, and that takes time.

:rotfl2: THIS GIF!! I love this, @courtneybeth. Can't wait to see what else is up your sleeve this month!

OK EVERYBODY! My WOOHOO for today? I finally have photos uploaded! Haha. We ended up with 800 photos JUST from Memory Maker, plus a TON from my phone and my personal camera. I went thru and edited all of them and then narrowed it down to the ones that went in this album.... So, yes, there might be 399 photos here, but considering that's only a third of the ones we ended up with... :rotfl: Everything that isn't obviously a Photopass/Memory Maker picture is something I took myself, including all the Illuminations photos. Feel free to take a look! I made the privacy settings public so that we don't have to be Facebook friends for you to see the photos, but feel free to add me if you'd like!!!

Here is an Illuminations photo that I am SUPER proud of!

My woohoo for the week...................hhhmmmmmmm...............
I'm over my cold! I was sick Sunday-Tuesday, but feel much better today!
Also, I got to meet up with a friend for coffee this afternoon. We both work overnights, but the opposite overnights, so one is usually sleeping while the other is awake, so it's nice to get a few hours here and there to catch up.

I just realized how mean Belle is in that gif. We're all trying to lose weight and she's rubbing it in dancing with food. o_O

It seems like Memory Maker is worth the price then? We've never done it but now I'm debating taking advantage of it. Our new Disney Passes didn't get the photo promotion so we're on 'old lame passes'. I think it's $150? Seems like it may be worth it to just have someone take photos everywhere and get the ride pics.

We actually did a Memory Maker share this trip (I led it) and I would NOT hesitate to do it again. We paid $30 instead of the $169 and ended up with 800 photos after all my edits. We made a big point to seek out photographers, though. If I were paying the $169, I am not sure if I would do it every trip (assuming it's just the two of us... going with other people/extended family would be a different story... we didn't get the same treatment from the photographers that a lot of people with families were getting... we'd watch the families in front of us get 5 or 6 different poses, then variations on who was in the photo, then props, no props, funny faces, serious faces, etc., and when it was our turn we'd get one, maybe two poses, shot vertically and horizontally... Of course, that was NOT with every photographer, so keep that in mind) BUT for special trips it's definitely worth it, and if I could lead a share and only spend $30 or so every time, I'd get it every time, because photos are $15 individually, and I would hope that out of 800 photos, I'd find 3 I'd want to print LOL. I would definitely look into MM or a share for your trip, or - would the cost to upgrade to passes with the photo promotion be less than the $169? Probably not, but it's a thought. Then you'd get the photos at DL, too!
