No One Loses Weight Like Gaston - November 2015 W.I.S.H Challenge

My birthday weekend effect has gone away and I am even down 100 gramms from my lowest weight last week an therefore am now at 22%. Still far too far behind for a good monthly result, but I will just do my best moving forward and see where I end at. I am not concerned that I will feel bad if I don't get to 100%, but hope to still be able to get as much percentage as possible towards my goal!

MOrning all! Another busy weekend away from the computer, so I am behind on the chatter.... again! Give me some time today and I promise to be caught up!............P

Weighed this morning. Down the two pounds I gained last week plus one more! Let's see what Sunday's weigh in will bring!

That's great!

Finished the 5K race - posted my best time to date. I'm at around a 14.5 minute mile with a finish time of 44:47! :)

I managed to shave 3.5 minutes off my total time. Yeah! :woohoo:

Congratulations!!

REPORT -- Attended my WW meeting this morning ( and lost 1.2 lbs - but only tracking attendance) 50% of monthly goal.:yay:

WOOHOOO!!

No on deserves a day off more!

THANKS!! They must have thought I needed it so badly that they gave me another one today!

I haven't been lucky enough to have a magic band yet. If by some miracle, we manage to salvage it, the April trip will be my first experience with them. Honestly, I'm a little freaked out by them. I can't stand wearing jewelry other than my wedding rings or watches of any sort and I worry that I will fiddle with the magic band so much that I lose it. I'm also pretty much a Luddite and never even allowed charge-to-room features with my Key to the World card.

I'll probably pick pink for me (favorite color) and either red or blue for DH. Unlikely to upgrade/customize or decorate. Hopefully I'll come around and love them! And love FP+ too. Honestly, at this point, I'll love anything they throw at me so long as I get to go!!

Adding a few more of you on Instagram. I never post myself but I love to follow! Cute people, cute babies, cute cats, cute dogs, food, and Disney! Who doesn't love Instagram?

Perhaps we need a list of Instagram user names here?

Yes, yes, please follow me on Instagram! I shall follow you back!!! I'm mnsmith89 (megan.s.legett) :cool1: Be prepared for lots of random pictures... Food, selfies, landscapes, my dog, swanchos (as @courtneybeth has already witnessed :rotfl:).....

I second @DisPup75 's mention of Paris... Many, many prayers for any and all who have any connection whatsoever to this terrible event. There is going to be a tribute at France in EPCOT tomorrow. Many guests will be bringing flowers to place at the fountain. So wish I could be there to contribute.

We received our sneak peek photos from our wedding photographer today, and I am SO THRILLED with them!!! If any of you who trooped through October with me (and even if you didn't!) would like to see them, here is the link! http://elsyphotography.net/megan-and-josh-sneak-peeks/ I think it's so funny how these pictures don't even begin to convey all the stress of the past few months, and even that morning... That we were 2.5 hours behind schedule... Or that the venue placed a large blue dumpster right in the middle of our ceremony spot, so my husband chained it to the back of his truck and dragged it off behind a building....:laughing::laughing::laughing: Goodness. So glad that now we can look back on so much and just laugh!

OH MY GOSH! What's NOT to love about those pictures! It honestly looks like a PERFECT day!!!!!

This weeks weigh-in I'm down 1.5 lbs which puts me at 50% to goal!

GREAT JOB!

As for weigh in, I am positively speechless this morning. I'm 58% towards my goal-- which is a nice change of pace considering last week I was only 4%. I guess upping my activity is helping my metabolism get in gear or something. That or there was a gravitational shift in my house over night... Either way I'm happy. Progress is happening! Also super excited because today's weight marks 10 lbs down since I started this journey 2 months ago. CRAZY. I think it's so slow and never coming off until I see a mile stone like that.

Sending happy thoughts and pixie dust to everyone's scales this weekend.

Bravo on the 58% !!!

Week 2: Weigh In

Pounds lost: 2 of 6
Percentage of Goal: 33%

So far I've managed to stay really on target this month: First 5K was under 45 minutes and I've had 2 weeks where I went above the 70,000 step mark. Yay!

I'll post the Trivia Question of the Weekend later this evening. I'm late for an MBA team meeting :)

Congrats on hitting 33%!!

I hopped on the scale Sunday morning and saw that I was down 8.0 lbs for the month. That puts me at 100% of my goal!

Winner!!!:cheer2:

*************************

Okay..... calling this officially caught up! I know I didn't answer the QOTD, but I am trying to limit my screen time today, since I want to make the BEST use of this day off!

I already have a TRIPLE batch of lentil soup bubbling away. That will be dinner on Thursday and many, many lunches in the freezer!! I also did some cooking when I was off last week and have tonight's meatless Monday Mexican quinoa done and ready to eat, burgers thawed for the men to eat while I'm at WW tomorrow, and my Asian lettuce wraps (recipe here.....
WISH Away the Pounds--Healthy Recipe Thread (new title) ) for Wednesday. Still have Friday to figure out though.

I'm gonna dash for now!..................P

Hey folks, we have quite a few 'holes' for the weight measurements. I'm going to give everyone until mid-afternoon to submit their progress before I post the results for the week. I'm missing final numbers from: @JacknSally, @CruisingKate, @bigsis1970, @pjlla, @ThistleMae, @summermom2, @charlene130, @ohMom, @talleyhopper, @Awholenewdisney, @MickeySP, and @linzjane88.

So far the numbers look really good - a lot of people did great progress this week!

I've skimmed the thread so apologies if I missed your post - I'm cold meds and feeling a little loopy! :(

Question of the Day - November 16

Beast and Belle enjoy a nice dinner without worrying about their waistlines.

Let's talk about... things we hope to accomplish in the future as a result of our weightloss.
Obviously there are many reasons why we're all involved in this weightloss challenge. For some it's for health reasons. For others it's to look good and feel good in your own body. Perhaps for others it's a combination of both. But no matter the reason... we're all here because we're on a path to our best self.

What is the first thing you're going to do when you reach goal weight?
Is there a special event or significant end-date in mind to reach your goal weight?
What do you look most forward to once you reach this weight?

First week of official diet and I am at 50% of my monthly goal. Went from 184 to 180. I hoped for 8 pounds per month. I realize most of it is the initial diet drop but it has been a confidence booster none the less. Although we went to a semi formal party over the weekend and while I FELT amazing in my dress I saw a picture of myself on Instagram and thought "OMG, is that how fat I look!?". There is a huge disconnect between what I think I look like and what I look like in pictures. :charac2: Hopefully I will get back there.

Thank you for having the common sense to organize that out! Haha

Also the last two days have been nothing but cake and energy drinks for me, and ice cream. My next trip to the scale might not be so pretty. I'll have to be verrrrryyyy good this week.

I'm just 7.5 pounds from reaching goal and I feel like it's going to take ~forever~ to get to that magic number. It's funny - when I started this process, 65 pounds seemed so far away. And now that I'm just 7.5 pounds away it feels even further! Being so close to my goal weight, I feel like it's time to actually start buying the new replacement clothes. My body won't change that much in just 7.5 pounds, so I should have a good idea of how things should fit when I reach the goal. I'm going to the Nordstrom Holiday 10 point party on 12/6 to get clothes and I'm super excited. I need everything from jeans to workpants, to bras and tops.

I think I'm looking most forward to having this confidence in myself once again. I already am starting to feel it and it wasn't until I saw the runDisney pics from the Avengers 5K that I noticed it even more. I feel good. Look good. I'm clearer in mind, body, and soul. I feel like the last 6 years of pain are over and I can start embracing this new side of me - something that I haven't felt in so long.

It's so crazy. I'm 29 days away from being done with the MBA program and 32 days from Disney World. Magic Band customization ends tomorrow - so it really feels like it's happening. All at once. I'm ready!!!

Interesting questions:

the very first thing literally will be to get my mobile phone and record my weight in the fitbit app and the two other weight monitoring apps that I have on there, so I can see them all displaying something that I reached my goal. And I think that will be it. I am not going to treat myself with anything special. I am afraid that I will even have a hard time to up my daily calories to a maintaining level.

Out of the apps I mentioned I have one that is set to my end goal and one that is set to my current interim goal. And then one with the end goal is set to reach this goal by the 1st of June. I know I am a slow loser and this is realistic. Actually, currently the app calculates me to be ahead and has me reaching that goal three weeks early. But I need a Christmas cushion anyway, so starting the new year, I will have to reevaluate my end time. But I kind of would like to be at my goal by the time swim suit season starts for real... So, start of summer is kind of my event.

I am not looking forward to the struggle that is maintaining! But I am looking forward to having more calories available for eating good cheeses. It is funny, a year ago I would have been all about bread and pasta. But I find that I am currently eating enough of those. But I miss good cheese. I am currently trying to train myself to eat it in small portions and I find I am getting better at it. But I know that if I can eat some more calories when I start maintaining, they will go for cheese, olive oil and maybe the odd meat dish. Oh and some fruits that are more high calorie. I am determined to keep my candy indulgences as low as possible. The calories are far too precious to waste them on cheap candy that just tastes of sugar and nothing else!

It might be odd that the thing I am looking most forward to is food. But I am not saying that I look forward to stuffing myself or just eat whatever takes my fancy. And I am already currently at a weight that I feel quite comfortable at. I am nearly at what would be considered a healthy weight, my weight is not restricting my mobility and fitness, I can easily find pretty clothes in any standard shop etc. And I even don't feel really ugly or anything like that. My goal weight is more kind a security number. I want to have enough of a distance to the point where things start getting bad (i.e. just a little bit heavier where I am now), so if anything bad happens, like a horrible stressful year at work or some personal distress or whatever and I put on a few kilos, I will still be in a range that is good for me. So far the recent years I have gone far too often from being just ok with my weight to not being ok anymore and I want that security cushion. So, maybe my answer should have been that I am looking forward to being far away from being overweight that I hopefully will be able to get things together before I ever get back to being overweight!

Very interesting question. When I reach my goal, I will text DH and tell him to get his wallet ready and book our weekend at GF! And then go dig out a dress I have that I love that I can't fit in anymore and put it on. I have quite a few that I haven't had the heart to get rid of, but there's one pink and sparkly one that I truly miss so I can't wait to wear it!

I am giving myself until Dec 2016 to get down to my goal (very very realistic), but if I am steady at loosing 5 lbs per month I should reach my goal by April 2016. I am debating whether or not I would want to use the GF treat in May 2016 doubling as an Anniversary weekend. We were thinking about using our miles to go to Disneyland though for a few days in May so if we take the leap on that, then I would much rather go there and save GF for Christmas when I hopefully have lost even a few pounds more. My goal is where I would like to be-- not exactly love to be, but I am trying to be realistic!

I'm most looking forward to not being ashamed of every photo taken of me. I cannot believe the pictures that are taken of me because I do NOT feel like I look like the woman in the pictures. I remember being so critical of my body before and now I look at those pictures thinking "what was your problem-- you look great!" So I hope this journey teaches me the valuable lesson to appreciate what I looked like back then and will look like again with a much less critical eye.

I feel good. Look good. I'm clearer in mind, body, and soul. I feel like the last 6 years of pain are over and I can start embracing this new side of me - something that I haven't felt in so long.

This is awesome! So excited for you! :)

But I am looking forward to having more calories available for eating good cheeses.

YES! The cheese lover struggle is REAL!!!!

As for me in general, I slipped right on down that slippery slope this weekend after my fantastic Saturday.... We went to a Renaissance Festival and they were selling bags of kettle corn and today I just could not stop eating it... It was insanely addictive.... oh my gosh... I am embarrassed to type that I was literally sucking the salty sugar out of half popped kernels today when I realized I had a serious problem. The good news is it's gone.... the bad news is it's gone because I finished the big ole bag of it myself. We are going grocery shopping tonight though for HEALTHY food (no sugary popcorn!!!) so I can get back on track!

My goal date? As soon as possible! Haha. Overall I'm wanting to lose 40-50lbs more, bringing me to 150-160lbs. At 5'4", that puts me still over the "healthy weight for your height" range medically, but it's in a range that I'm comfortable. I can't imagine myself any smaller than that. Maybe once I hit those numbers, I'll realize that I could still lose some more and be ok, but for now that's my goal. I've decided I'd like to make it happen by the end of 2016. That may or may not be practical, but I lost 30lbs between June and October of this year without any extreme activities, so I'd like to think it's at least partially doable, especially if I can stay strong and steady on a diet and exercise regime. When I reach my goal? NEW. CLOTHES. Haha. I'm so tired of not being able to wear the cute things i want to wear or see others wearing because I can't find them in my size or can't feel comfortable and confident in them when I do.

2016 is going to be about overall better living for me. Better diet, better exercise, no more settling in the work place if I can help it (unfortunately I have bills to pay so being unemployed until I find *the* job isn't an option, haha), and lots more living in the moment. I've realized recently how much I put on hold using the wedding as an excuse - DH and I stopped "dating" each other, saying we didn't have the time between work and wedding stuff, things we wanted to do got pushed off additional days and weeks and months because we couldn't make the time, even things like taking the time to play with the dog or take walks or even get a good night's sleep fell by the wayside. I'm going to focus more from here on out on just better living in general. Life's too short.

Sorry for the lack of posts lately. As for my weigh-in, @courtneybeth I'm still holding at 206 which is down 3lbs or 100% of my goal.

I love this QOTD! I hadn't really thought that far ahead.

I've never actually hit a "goal weight" before because I've never been happy with myself. So I'm not really sure what I'll do. I've told my DH that next year after I hit my goal weight I'd like to have pictures done and send out Christmas cards. I've never had "professional" pictures of me taken at my smallest weight and so I'd love for that to happen. I look forward to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. I look forward to reaching new running goals/health goals and feeling like a 23 year old. With all my aches and pains and health issues before I started this up I was feeling like an old lady. I finally just got sick of not feeling like a young person.

First thing? Hit Victoria Secret! I feel 100% better when I am in cute underthings, even at the weight I am now.
Is there a special event or significant end-date in mind to reach your goal weight?

We are going to Disney in April/May and would LOVE to be to my goal weight by then. If I lose about 2 pounds per week should hit the goal early. I also am going to be in a wedding in January and can't stand and more fat photos! My face is so sensitive to weight changes it blows up like a blimp when I gain.
What do you look most forward to once you reach this weight?
Pure vanity. I am sick of being the 'big' one when shopping with friends, and also trying on every dress/pants/shirt to find one that doesn't accentuate this bulge, that lump. Just being at the weight my brain thinks I am. I swear I have to upsize 80% of clothes I am trying on because by brain is convinced I am still 150 pounds.
