No New Leaders!

CoolJonathon just sent his application to be a CL. He came to ask me and CL_drkfaery how long until you either become leader or get questions or whatever. I give him the typical spiel that it takes an hour to get questions, half a week to three weeks if they don't lose your app....

he then gets a mail saying:

They aren't accepting any more CL applications until CHRISTMAS.

Anybody else have this happen? This is the first i've heard of it.

Wow, may be alot of unhappy people after they see this! Me not being one of them as I have not applied, but WOW...

I just sent in a request and will see. Don't know if this is the way VMK wanted it to be or just a bug but yes there will be tons of people not happy about this.

Thanks for taking the time to fill out the Community Leader application form. We're sorry, but we're not accepting any new applications at the moment.

We'll be accepting applications again from December 1st onwards, so please try again then.

lol I sent one in about a month ago to amuse myself. (i mean come on, cl_mousedude? that would just be funny). I answered the questions and sent them back about 4 weeks ago. Havent heard a thing since. On the plus side, no note saying thanks but no thanks. On the down side, no note at all lol.

Same here sent answers in over a month ago no response.
Re sent them a few weeks ago.
Reapplied and sent answers in yet again.....

I feel about the same. At first i wanted to be CL_MickeysBuddy sooo bad, but I have had the same response from VMK as you have , no yes and no no. At this juncture I think I would just rather stay a regular player.

Here's my take on it. I'm a grown-up who just started playing VMK again after trying Beta in the first week. Either you walk the walk and talk the talk of a Community Leader ... or you don't. The label and the title mean nothing if you do not act the way a CL should. I know that some of you are disappointed. You wanted that "CL_" before your name. However, the heart and soul of being a CL is helping people. Not the having title and being "cool". Go out and help the newbies. Be nice. Trade fair. And maybe, by December 1st when they take applications again, you will become a CL. And you'll know that you are the same nice and fair person you were before.
