If you have tickets for a US Airways flight after October 17, watch for that flight to change into an American Airlines flight.

US Airways and American Airiines are already one company, but the company is still operating as two airlines with two different reservation systems. American seems to be doing its best to avoid the problems that plagued the merger of United ad Continental.

USAir was the first airline I flew, about 35 years ago. Living in Pittsburgh, it was our major airline for years. The county built a huge airport to their specs as their major hub. Then they pulled the hub and left it half empty. Went from 500 flights a day to 50, laid off thousands of people. Made life difficult when I was traveling a lot for work, suddenly most destinations were connections. They pulled free snacks and in flight entertainment. So to be honest, good riddance. I'll have my last trip next month when I fly to Disneyland on an award ticket, hoping for the best.
