I tried to call 1-800-828-0228 today to make ADR's and it is disconnected. Is it just me or does Disney seem to be a little cheap in not having a toll free number? Anyone know of any other replacements?

Thank you so much! This has saved me significant change since it takes a while to book a weeks worth of meals. I have no idea why they wouldn't make this available to everyone??

One more benefit to having DVC you get the toll free number to member services and they make all your room ressies for you. Your ME arrangements if you need them ticketing flights and dining ressies and dining plan arrangements if you so desire.

Ok the number seems to have changed again. Does anyone have anything more recent? TIA!

This is the last one I have on file. It worked May 2008: 1-800-711-4344

Please give it a try and let us know if it still works or not.

CanadianGuy is correct (as usual!). The toll-free number is ONLY for travel agents and/or media.

The reason the toll-free number changes so often is that somehow non-TAs/media manage to find the number. Therefore, Disney has to change the toll-free number (yet again) because TAs and/or media can't get through kwim?

Honestly, it's not that big a deal to call a non-toll-free number to book a Disney vacation is it? Or you could just book it all on-line, which is free to do.

While it's true that other hotel chains, etc. do have toll-free numbers, many do not, including Disney. Time to just deal with it IMHO

At the moment, they are all done away with. Reason being that toll-free numbers are not intended for general public use. They are for travel professionals and parties specified by Disney. If the number is used too often by the general public, then Disney gets rid of the toll free number.

Some things are not suppose to be leaked onto the internet. ;)

Disney's toll free lines are supposedly for travel professionals. We normal mortals are supposed to call the regular 407 #'s and pay for the pleasure.

lol - heaven forbid travel professionals get 'perks'. I mean it's not as if I've never seen a cop go through a red light or never knew of someone who got a discount at the store they work at.

I personally think Disney does it on purpose. They like to give people a reason to book with their travel agent partners. You know, the DIS wouldn't even be here if it weren't for those partners. ;)

I agree it isn't that much of a big deal but you can't book adr's online. And by the time you go through all of the automated options, you spend a good coin or two on long distance charges. In my opinion, since we are already dropping a bundle on a Disney vacation and will drop a whole lot more once we have arrived, the least Disney could do is pay for the long distance.

However if it is no longer available, that's fine. thank you all for explaining why it keeps changing. Have a great day!

I've always used those calling card/long distance numbers (10-10-100). You can stay on the phone for a gazillion minutes to the US for $1.

We have a long distance number and calling Florida is pretty cheap. It's called Distributel, it costs us 10 dollars a month and any long distance is included in that, any where in North America. It's the same idea as Copper Queen has suggested.

I read somewhere the toll free number was costing them a fortune, all the people calling, changing their ADR's and checking for availability but never booking.

The only time I ever call the states is when I am heading to Disney which honestly is not all that often. I have a plan that lets me call anywhere in Canada any time for $4 a month. Thanks for the advice though. :santa:

What's this plan? I'd gladly do away with Bell if I could

If Disney made it easy to enquire, or make a reservation, I could get closer to agreeing with you. Even a simple query on room availability can take a while (they want all travel details, including names of travellers, before you can even get any info). Plus, you may be on hold for 10 - 15 minutes.

I know of no other major hotel chain that does not have a toll free number. In fact, most minor hotels even have a toll free number, for the convenience of guests. The lack of a toll free number may speak volumes towards the true customer service deficit @ Disney.

Those were my feelings exactly! I am signed up with Worldline.ca You have to dial a local number first and then when you get a new dial tone dial the number you want to reach but the extra 10 seconds so that I can talk as long as I want and never pay more than $4 a month is worth it! Good luck!

Sounds good to me

Take care
