For everyone that receives PINS and for eveyone else who can use the general public discounts, you have to admit that we've all been spoiled over the last few years. When the economy gets better, what's it going to be like paying full price? Just a thought...

I honestly can't imagine going to WDW without a discount of sorts. When I look at rack rates, I automatically think in my head that I'll be paying less. I guess we will go back to staying at the Swan or Dolphin with a teacher rate if they do away with Discounts. I hate that, but also think Disney should always offer a discount if you do a package and a certain number of nights (like 3 or more?)

even when the economy was in full swing and the housing market was booming, and money was pouring in hand over fist...at least for SOME people, there were discounts at Disney. I don't think there's ever been a time when I've planned a disney trip that there hasn't been some promotion, discount, deal that has come out. It's what all inclusive resort destinations do...what any theme park does really. There are a lot of other options out there, IN Florida, down the street from Disney. I can't imagine that the Disney Powers that Be would be so confident in their projected earnings that they wouldn't try to entice people with a deal of some sort. That's the name of the game when it comes to vacation destinations.

There may not be as many or the discounts people prefer...but there will most likely always be a little something out there.

at least I hope so!:thumbsup2

I have never been able to get a PIN or use the general public discounts, only ever received the AAA discount. As long as I can get that I will be fine.

I guess that makes sense. I would hate to pay full price! I ONLY go when there's a good deal - and we've been going every year for the past 5 years.

We've been going for many years and have always had a discount. So I don't think the discounts were due to the economy. My favorite was the fairytale package buy 4 get 3!

As much as I love Disney there are way to many excellent non disney resorts to choose from. I will stay somewhere else I'd I don't feel I am getting my moneys worth at disney.

I Agree!!!! My parent's still talk about the "Grand Plan" from 20 years ago when the GF first opened. They offered this when staying at the GF and my parent's still laugh about how cheap this plan was the first year they had it. I know you got all meals included with anything you wanted to eat (Including V and A), you got a free video camera rental, gifts everyday in your room, admission to theme parks and water parks, unlimited recreation rentals and much more.

Wow! Imagine what that would cost in today's money!
