No More No Expire

Anybody else hear the rumor that Disney seems to be doing away with the no-expiration option on park passes? Anybody done the math to see if it's worth buying a couple/few 10-day passes now to use in future years? Or, do you think they'll set some kind of cut-off date by which they have to be used? Obviously, I'm just fishing for thoughts, here . . .

I don't think try will set a "use or lose" by date. You can still use all the other old tickets, so I doubt these would be any different. They are really only cost effective if you only use a couple days at a time.

I'm sad..... tho lately the no expire option has been so high it isn't worth it in general anymore(still have a few 2004 days left)
who knows? if you are SURE you're going to use them,it might save a few bucks in the long run- I read it and thought "I have to get some and save them" (hoarder lol) but I don't think I will, like i said that option is so expensive it isn't worth much to me anymore......

The other issue for me is whether, with the upcoming ticket/fastpass changes, you will have to buy a package to get the best Disney experience. I hate not knowing what the alternatives are (and I have not been following the "rumors" thread--no use getting too upset before we know what Disney is really going to do).

I read a similar post and rushed right over to the WDW website. You can still order the non-expiry passes there. I decided to order four ten-day passes from Undercover Tourist just to be safe. We've made three trips using a day or two each time on our current ten-day passes. We may be priced out of the parks if these go away.

I don't think it's a rumor,and reality is they made it so pricey a few years ago to use this option it was insane..... i think that was the beginning of pricing us out of it.... like the stupid bag lines at the park entrance was the training for "bring no bags,just use our tracking wristbands for the best experience" (or is it just me who saw that line in the newsletter and thought it?)
I hate the idea of tracking wristbands....ot I know

My favorite ticket option was what we used on a trip years ago...the 'length of stay' pass. The ticket was just built in to the package and on your room key. You had privileges at all the parks from the moment you checked in until midnight on the day you checked out. Park hopping included. No need to worry about how many 'days' you had, whether you could hop, what parks were included. It was everything, but just for the time you were there and priced based on the number of nights you stayed.

So easy.

if you bring bags, you have to stop while the security folks check them out.

that's not a new thing...it does seem easier not to bring any.

Yes, my friend works in Ticketing and you can still buy it by walking up to a window and buying it. She was shocked when I told her the option has disappeared online.

they can't make it where you have to buy a package deal since anyone who is DVC couldn't do that. It would violate the rules that we bought into I'm sure if we ahd to buy tickets for the whole stay.

True, but my understanding of the rumors about the new fast pass system is that Disney might in some way link fast passes to ticket levels. My family has bee totally spoiled by fast passes, so I am worried that in order to get them, we would have to buy a ticket package.
