This is a report I found on another sight.

"Bad in regards to the Disney owned Hotels

Now the bad news, Disney is changing its policy in regards to "Magic Mornings" (formally Early Entry) and hotel guests. The prior policy was to allow any guest of the 3 Disney owned hotels to enter the park during Early Entry just by showing their Room Charge Slip. This was great for Annual Passholders and others who did not get their admission tickets through the Walt Disney Travel Company.

The removal of this perk will not effect most guests, purchasing a package through the WDTC or its affiliates, or even buying a 3 day or longer ParkHopper at the Hotel Front Desk, will still get you one Magic Morning. But this is the same "perk" as if you stay at a Good Neighbor Hotel."

I am really suprised that this perk is being removed. My family and I decided we were staying for 9 days in the park we would get the anual passes at the same time as we stay so we will in effect loose all MM in the park that were offered before and we will not even receive 1 for our stay during our stay at GCH. I am very upset about this one.:furious: :confused3

I'm taking donations for a quick trip down to see if it's true...anyone wanna help? ;):rotfl: :upsidedow

The Disneyland Hotels would rather keep the MM perk quiet because they want to surprise their guests. It kind of defeats the purpose when we all talk about it.

This onsite perk has nothing to do with packages, and most WDTC agents do not know about it. I remember when one of our own told us about it, I called WDTC & they didn't know about it. I called CRO and they didn't know about it. I then called each hotel individually, and they confirmed that they did offer early entry on each day it happened, but they wanted to surprise their guests & asked that I not promote this feature (this was back in '05). Ever since then, WDTC & CRO kind of blow me off when I mention it, and it's because it's a hotel perk, not a room/package reservation perk. I'd be surprised if they stop it.

That doesn't make business sense to keep the perk quiet since it could be a deciding factor in selecting a Disney hotel vs. a Good Neighbor hotel.

But that's pretty much the way it's been for years. Honestly I don't think most people base staying onsite alone on getting to go to all the MM. It's quite expensive to stay onsite, and while we've enjoyed that perk, I'd never pay that much just to have it.

I thought the previous thread just mentioned that staying in the hotels did not grant you MM entry. This specifically mentions that AP holders can't access those benefits?

Disney wants you to know. So they can charge more money. Every TA I booked a disney vacation through even knew this, and generally the TAs knew next to nothing about disney, but this perk is printed about a 1000 times in all of the literature DL distributes. That's the main dif in perks between the good neighbor hotels and the more expensive disney hotels.

Here is a link to disneyland's own site that explicitly mentions the MMs if you stay at their hotel. It's on page 26.

This all was started by a post on micechat. This is based on info being given over the phone. By a person who likely works at WDTC, which isn't the hotel. No one has come back and verified that they can't get MM anymore for staying onsite.

Staying onsite is a way for AP holders to get MM. If this is all true, then AP holders don't have access to MM anymore.

But nothing has been confirmed, it's all based on one post from someone given info on the phone.

Page 26 is talking about the MM from the parkhopper. Not having access to every day of MM during your stay. THAT is the MM access we're talking about.

And many have posted that no TA knows about it. That the only official notice given is when you're checking in and are given a paper (as we were in Sept) and verbally told exactly what days you will get MM during your stay. :)

I get it now!

I've also found that if you speak to 5 different Disney employees you can get 5 different answers, which I find highly frustrating!

You're right, it does include MM - the package includes one MM entry -- however, if you stay at one of their hotels you can take advantage of MM each day it is offered, not just the one time, like with the 3+ park-hopper bonus ticket. That is the difference I was trying to explain.

I agree with you. I have found that when I talk to some WDTC & CRO agents they do not know about the DLR hotel perk, and that may have happened to that one guest.

Right. :)

I wish that were the case. I have ressies for May (PPH) and July (DLH) so I called today, twice and spoke to two different individuals. Both stated that MMs aren't available to hotel guests unless they have a park hopper ticket with the MM option. Neither could (or would) tell me when and why this was implemented - even after I stated that I've used MM (or EE) as an AP holder when I stayed at DLH one weekend a month over the last 5 months. Still on the fence as to whether I'll keep the ressies or not as MM is a major reason I stay on site. Guess I'll wait and see how this plays out and will make alternate ressies at a good neighbor hotel in the meantime.

I think they should keep it, and advertise it. There are not a lot of perks to staying onsite at DLR, like there is at WDW. I know a lot of people like onsite for the ambiance, but I am talking about tangible perks. Like at WDW they have EMH, ability to include an excellent dining plan, and in some cases, proximity to the parks. At Universal resort Florida, they have FOTL, which is a HUGE perk. I think DLR ought to implement FOTL... they have the same setup as USF..2 parks, a shopping/dining district, and 3 hotels. And it works very well at USF. That would be a perk I would pay alot of extra money to have (and I have..we stayed 3 nights at HRH, in 2 rooms, just to have FOTL). As it is now, I won't stay onsite at DLR..it is too much money for what they offer, since it is just as easy to stay offsite and save a bundle.

I found out on MC that we can ask for a Pass from the hotel for one day. I guess I will find out in a little less than 2 months.:confused3

There has been no change in MM policy. No need for anything but a valid admission ticket (or AP) and your hotel's charge slip.

Can Anyone Confirm this?

because the guest link from CMs still SAY people who stayed at Disneyland Onsite property still can get into Magic Mornings.

It is also JUST updated 4/1/08.
