no more "main events" in kids nav.?

I was just looking at the new Eastern navigators Dave has on his site (thanks Dave) that there are no more mouse ears on the kids navigators, does that mean they don't get their parting gift anymore? DS really liked his bucket hat last year.

We were on the April 26th Western. They didn't have any "mouse ears" main events listed then either. At the time I thought that maybe it was because the ship was full and I heard that there were a very large number of kids enrolled in the clubs. However, now it sounds like maybe they have phased the main events out.

The good news is that my DD7 did receive a Oceaneer's Club lunch bag and water bottle on the last day. She now takes them to school everyday.

I'm a new, recent cruiser. By main events, do you mean the most popular? On our kids' navigators they explained that the activites listed in BOLD letters were the most popular.

My daughter came home with a small beanie like teddy bear and a really cool Oceaneer's hat. She said she won both of these by playing different games (one was "who can lie on the ground the longest without moving or making noise) HA!

HTH, but it may not as I'm not 100% sure what "main events" were to begin with.

I noticed the same thing. My DD would have DEFINETLY wanted to hit all of these events regardless of any plans. This kind of makes me happy, but she is going to be bummed. This will be our first cruise, so she at least won't "miss" it.

The main events used to be noted in the navigators with a set of mouse ears. If a child attended at least one main event every day they would find on their bed the last night a gift from the lab. Last year it was a neat bucket hat. DS really wanted to "earn" the hat and even attended one main event that he really was not interested in to do so. Bummer that has been phased out. It was a good motivator to get him to the lab at night so DH and I could go to the adult comedy show.
