No more luggage tags?

But why would you use the cutesie ones anyway for actual air travel? I would hate to get one ripped off in the machinery.

The tags of yore were crappy but in the last few years they have become better quality and I use them on checked luggage without hesitation or fear.

I still have my tags from last fall trip. I left them on my luggage, we traveled to New Orleans early summer. I'm going to leave the luggage tags on my suitcases, they are so cute. And since I rented points for DVC stay, probably won't be getting any, not sure? because I purchased park hoppers but not a package.

we booked an agency exclusive last year and did not get the tags but knew about that.

I have my tag from 2009 still on my luggage, it's a blue one with a picture of Cinderellas castle; love that tag.

This thread is referring to the complimentary decorative luggage tags that you put your contact info on that is only given if you have booked a vacation package.
It is not about the Disney's Magical Express yellow luggage tags that you put on your checked luggage at your departing airport for Disney to pick up at MCO and deliver to your room.
If you take advantage of DME you will still receive the yellow luggage tags.

This thread has me a little confused. When you are referring to no more luggage tags do you mean those decorative they would send you to put your contact information on? In the past we got one for each person on the reservations (think they had the castle picture on them).

They still send the luggage strips that you can put on before you leave home airport so that Disney will collect your luggage in Orlando and deliver to your hotel room, right?

It's been a few years since we have done WDW as we have been cruising more lately. We do have a big trip planned for next April to spend several days at WDW before getting on the Wonder for the Panama Canal cruise and ending with spending a few days in San Diego area before flying home.

Sorry yes I received the magical express tags, I meant the cute little character luggage tags that came with the reservation booklet. Apparently now they come with the magic bands. We leave in 22 days, hoping our bands come soon!

How and when did you get the verification of the magic express. I just got our mini golf discount but I didn't see the magic express as part of it.

You generally get a separate mailing for DME that will include the yellow luggage tags.

Sucks to be Canadian then. They don't send out our Magic Bands.....we get them on arrival at the resort. We got our Magic Express tags but not luggage tags.....

Yeah, we got ours when we got to the resort. I did put them on the luggage before returning home but it's just not quite the same as putting them on when you're looking forward to going. Of course, they already had tags from more than one prior trip but it's still kind of sad not to get them until you're already there.

True!! I'd use them for my carry on! I had one ripped off my luggage by an (airport)hotel shuttle bus driver, it got caught on something. We stayed the night before flight at the airport hotel.
Last trip I bought a cute tag in Disney Springs. It's on my carry on!!

In all the visits we've made, we've NEVER gotten any luggage tags! And every time I practically rip the box apart hoping they are in the bottom or somewhere! and nothing!
I understand it to be totally random..... so I'm not complaining... I figure we just aren't lucky to get them.....
Maybe this time around??!!

Unlike most who answered, last week our magic bands came in a separate box from the magical express envelope where the yellow bag tags were. We booked room only on points though. Not sure if that makes a difference.

It is not random. If you book a Magic Your Way package then you should receive them. If you did not book a package though, then you do not get them. If you have booked a package and did not receive teh tags with your Magic Bands, contact Disney anfd they should replace them.

The yellow tags are for routing your bags through Magical Express. We are talking about the character themed tags that are just for fun. You do not get them if you booked room only.

oh good so maybe I'll get them today anyways! Mine says estimated delivery 7/30-8/01. Fibbers
