No more free cold water from Coke Freestyle Machines!!!

This just plain sucks! We did a nine day stint a couple of years ago, and I thought this service was a much better option for us than anything Disney had going. We had a refillable roll-up water bottle with a removable wide top - perfect to refill, but once empty, easy to stash away ... no need for a locker. We loved it.

This will put a bit of a damper on our upcoming trip.

If you're paying $15 for a refillable cup and you can't get yourself a water --- how sadly hilarious is that???

This I can't wait to see.

... who's taking bets???? My guess ... the new and exciting product being offered at the stations will be none other than our friend, Dasani Water :-)

This, or something like this (with the option of adding some lo-calorie or no-calorie flavouring) will be added to the machines --- that's my prediction.

Come on who's with me?

That would be a great if it's true.

Yea the Fuddruckers and Firehouse Subs near me have the Freestyle machines and the Dasani water option- with all sorts of "flavored" and even a "sparkling" option.
Good to know the carts will give you water, thanks! We bring Tervas or other insulated containers that can be easily refilled, but my husband can't do the water fountains- he always gets sick after. And using the filter bottles gets the water too hot too quick.

Being able to get ice water easily was a life saver for us in May. We found that if we went to a location that had a long line for the freestyle machine, we just did something else for a moment or two and the line would go away soon. Most people were honestly only getting water. I really wish they would keep the water option or offer another one that is self service ice water. It helps so much in the Florida heat.

This is most likely the real reason why they took it away. Long line of people getting free water and not buying sodas.

Sounds like a pretty safe bet to me. Why give it away when you could charge for it? Honestly though, if it is cheaper than the bottled water sold in parks and I can fill a big cup and not shlep bottles of water into the parks count me in. Nobody in our family drinks soda and I hate paying for bottled water in the parks because we drink a lot of water and it adds up really quick. 2 or 3 bottles of dasani would probably cost more than the cup.

But the vast majority of the people getting free water had already bought the freestyle cup for $12.99 or whatever (just like we did). Very, very few were getting water in their own cups or bottles. So actually they made money off the deal.

Ah good point

First I noticed this thread, not surprised as I never noticed they gave out 'free' water either. Free ice is nice but the taste & smell of Orlando's water is, to put it kindly, an acquired taste for many of us.

We ocassionally drag our refillable cups into the parks but soda just doesn't seem to hydrate as well as soft drinks. have taken to buying a case of water and just stuffing two bottles per in our pockets with one in hand.
