No more desks in renovated 1 and 2 bedroom units

As I mentioned before, the 1BRs at both Jambo and Kidani (and, and as a result all lock-off 2BRs, but also the dedicated 2BR in Kidani, and even the value 1BRs) have always had a desk in the master bedroom.
Yes, Chuck corrected me above. I was thinking of OKW since I’ve never stayed in a 1 bed at Kidani.

Beach Club also has a desk in the master bedroom.
Thanks for posting! I remember a desk in the master bedroom at Beach Club when I took my nephew*, but that was several refurbs ago. We had a 2-bedroom at the time, but I don't remember if it was a dedicated or a lock-off.

* That trip was part of the reason I dubbed myself "Best Aunt."

We almost always stay in a 1 bedroom at BWV. I don't recall there ever being a desk in those units.

Nor do I. Long ago we determined that Disney was not a "work while on vacation vacation" - although both of us have logged in from Disney sites and my husband spends the whole week working from the kitchen table at HHI when we go. But we are prepared for slow internet connections and working from a kitchen table and not a desk.

It isn't in Disney's best interest to have someone stay in the room and work - in the room they are not emptying your pockets, nor are they creating memories that are going to drive you to return.

There may have been a desk in some of the resorts, but a few of us long time owners (since the mid-90's) do not recall the BWV ever having one.

I suspect Kathy was agreeing that the resorts that had them should have kept them. FWIW, I do not see any place in a BWV 1 bedroom to put one.

I've owned BWV since 2000 and do not remember desks.

I also own at Beach Club Villas and they had desks in the master bedroom on the side of the bed (closest to the sliding door). I think they still have them.

I have this youtube video set to start at 4:57 in the master bedroom showing the desk.

I do think the desk issue should have been revisited since the pandemic. SO many more people are working from home/from wherever they can take their laptop. My DH always works at least a few hours each day, no complaints here, it's how we afford to visit as often as we do. He needs a desk. None of the coffee tables that can raise up, or any portable desk thing is going to give him what he needs to get his job done. I really hope this will be reconsidered as future refurbs happen. Even if you don't have someone working, the extra space for charging the many devices we all have is a plus!

editing to add: we are not expecting this in studios, just 1 br's and above.

I was upset by the lack of table in studios in the SSR refurb too, but I have to say the raised coffee table is surprisingly comfortable.

It’s fine for a quick zoom meeting etc but the ergonomics aren’t conducive for a long work session for me. But if it works for you, great!
