Just listening to the end of last week's podcast (yes, I listen to them at work :) ) - I was shocked, SHOCKED I tell you, that there are no Star Wars geeks in the podcast crew!!!

If you guys need some help, I'll be down there with DD#1 this coming weekend... ;)

I ran into Peter Mayhew at the BC on the way to the Studios Saturday .. said hello he stopped and shook my hand .. after listening to the interview I was glad that he was not one of these bitter actors but genuinely glad to represent his character and 'thankful' as he put it that gets to be 'worshipped' for a couple a days.
I think Pete mentioned on a previous show that he was a Trekkie/er in his younger days .. so that might explain the lack of love for SW

I'm glad you liked the interview (at least I hope you did ;) ). I was quite impressed with Peter Mayhew and how gracious he was.

I have not met Peter Mayhew in person, but from everything I've seen and read he is one of those genuinely thankful for the fans actors.

Reminds me of a Sci-Fi convention I went to a long time ago - it wasn't a fan convention, but one of those for-profit jobs that went all over the country. Jimmy Doohan was one of the guests of honor. From past experience, you saw the guests at the panels, and at the autograph line, and that was it. Jimmy was an exception - he came out BEFORE the convention started, and shook hands with everyone waiting in line to get in and chatted with them.

I did, it looks great but I dont have quite enough time to read through it at the moment.

I do love Star Wars talk though--Id never build a fan site for it but its interesting.

I have been a Star Wars Fan for awhile now. I don't dress up like any of the characters. And I do prefer the original. I admit some of the newer characters I am not sure of. I though the Peter Mayhew interview was excellent. He seems like such a geniune human being so nice. I thought that Kathy did really well considering she's not familiar with the series. :thumbsup2 I actually went with my Mother to Star Wars Weekend. While she doesn't get it (she still confuses Star Wars with Star Trek), she really enjoyed the Stormtroopers over the entrance.:thumbsup2

Thank you. I did buy the Star Wars weekend Tshirt. I do plan to watch the movie. Two of my kids have seen the movie. :)

LOL there are 6 movies, which one are you planning on watching.;)

:lmao: That is what I was thinking. As a child my Dad took me and my sister to see the original numerous times which started my brainwashing, err Jedi Training. Now I have my own kids that I can warp with Star Wars it boggles my mind that there are people that haven't seen at least one of the Star Wars movies. :yoda:

We watched the original trilogy with the whole family over Memorial Day weekend (it was my own little Star Wars Weekend fix), and it was interesting seeing my girls (8 & 11) watching the films for the first time. Now Star Wars was one of the first films I remember my Dad taking me to in the theater, and I was 9 when it came out. So I was about the same age as my girls are now. The interesting thing was how much of the story they already knew. They kept asking, now when does this happen or when does that happen. My wife and I kept saying there was something special about seeing the movie in the theater and everything being new. There were things in the movie that were big surprises that our girls just couldn't appreciate. I don't think the movies would surprise anyone anymore - they are just too much a part of our cultural fabric.

The first one.
the first one was actually the fourth one and the fourth one was actually the first one. you can actually skip the fourth, fifth and sixth which are one, two and three cause they kinda lost the tone of the first trillogy which was four, five and six.:rotfl2:

Go by titles that will keep you straight

Go for: A New Hope
The Empire Strikes Back
Return of the Jedi

Skip Phantom Menace. The only thing that saves that one for me is Ewan McGregor and Liam Nieson. Oh and Samuel L. Jackson

As for seeing the movie throught fresh eyes. I still remember how my jaw dropped when I saw the "Luke I am your father" scene when I saw it in the fourth grade. Sadly now everyone knows the answer to that one. No more element of surprise. It's so sad.:sad2:

Oh and I have been a Han girl from day 1
