No love for ASMu?

I recently booked a trip for Sept 2018 and chose ASMu due to the price. We went last October and stayed in a refurb room at Pop. We just use the room to sleep and shower. We realize the beds are full sized compared to Pop's queens. As long as it's clean and comfortable, we're happy. We will be majorly disappointed after staying at Pop?

We have thoroughly enjoyed all our stays at all 3 All Stars. IMHO, you will not be disappointed at all. It's a great resort. We actually prefer the All Stars over Pop.

I doubt you will be disappointed. We recently spent a week at ASMu after spending the three trips before that in various deluxe resorts and we weren't disappointed at all. We have always enjoyed our stays at any of the All Star resorts.

My family has always used the All Stars, in particular, Music for a place to shower and sleep. We have never run into any issues that most people complain about. I will caution you that ASMu has the most expansive layout, so unless you purchased a preferred room, you will walk a much longer distance to the main building than Sports or Movies.

Thanks for your responses. I'm feeling better about my choice now. Now just hoping for some FD pixie dust.

We stayed in the Broadway section in Nov and enjoyed our stay. We requested Building 8, top floor, closest to lobby(TP fax for room 8655), and got 8659, which was great location, next to Jazz, so closest to Preferred, and did not think it was a bad walk, and loved the theming in that area. We thought the beds were comfy as well. We were also in parks all day, so did not utilize pools or food court, but had great customer service and help with a few things from front desk.

Music is adequate: beyond a clean and updated room, little else matters to me. My only concern with ASMu is the exterior’s dire need of a paint job or overall makeover. I stayed in the Broadway section and the sun-bleached icons and concrete courtyard did the landscape no favors. I put up with it because the All-Stars are likely to be the last bastion of affordability on property.

If you only use the room for showers and night time, then why not? I know the All Stars will be getting a refurbishment starting with All Star Movies soon. I'm sure then the rooms will be almost identical to Pop Century.

And you are going in September so no problems with The 15s/Cheerleaders/huge Sports groups,etc..

One neat thing about the All-Stars is you have access to 6 Pools,3 Food Courts,3 Arcades, etc.:)

We stayed at music after a Pop trip. Won't do Music again unless nothing else is available. The rooms are fine, but the food court is small and not much to choose from. The noise level if you stay during other large group trips is insane. No matter how I plan, there are always large groups cheering loudly at night, and causing long waits in the food court. Pop also had big groups when I was there but we didn't hear them, and we just walked to AoA when it was too busy to eat.

If we stay value again, I would actually choose ASMo (only All Stars we have stayed at) over POP. We did not like POP much at all, I think my biggest issue was how it was set up with the shop, and cafeteria, and dining area all being one contiguous room, it made it very loud, I much preferred the more compartmentalized set up of ASMo when we stayed there, it seemed quieter and less frenetic.

I've stayed at every value resort now (POP the most but not since the refurb) and I gotta say ASMu was pretty disappointing.
I despise the set up.
I stayed in a standard room and it was just about as far away as you could get from the buses. We were facing "landscaping" which was really just a very dark swampy area. No lights, no walkways, just brush and trees.
I will say that the room was clean and beds definitely had some nice mattress toppers on them which is more than I can say about POP the last time I stayed there.
BTW I do believe on the one bed at POP is queen. I think the pull down is a full/double so its not 2 queen beds there.
I would not choose to stay at ASMu again. Actually even though I'm not into sports I think out of the All Star resorts I like Sports best.

I very much enjoyed my last stay at ASMu. We had one of the family suites and it was wonderful. The property is nothing special, but is quite comparable to Pop. I still give Pop the edge based on location, but the room experience and service are pretty even.

Agree with you on ASMU ... and I like Sports as well (even though I expected to hate it).

But both beds at POP in the new rooms are now queens. They are the same exact mattress but one is on a murphy bed. Two Queens. So hopefully Allstar will be the same.

I prefer Pop only for the location. If I'm going to stay at the Allstars I would prefer Music to the other two.

Be prepared to walk. other than that, it's fine. Sports is my favorite out of the All stars.

Ok that's awesome about POP. I'll be staying there in December.
I haven't followed the refurb too closely and I think back when they announced the refeurb I read 1 queen bed and 1 full pull down on some article so that's why that was in my head.
Only thing I'm not a fan of is you lose the table when you want the bed and my sister and I prefer to hang out on the beds so we'd never have a table to set stuff on like the refillable mugs, food, just "stuff" in general....
