No longer selling discounted tickets after 9/15 - Why?

It might even be something as simple as before the Internet, they didn't have the capacity to sell all the tickets directly, so they went through wholesalers. But now that they have the capacity and enough experience to trust it, they're happier selling direct and cutting out the middlemen. It may enable them to have more complicated pricing schemes, but that's just one of the benefits they get. They also get customer addresses, more detailed sales data, etc.

I think you're right.

If you are on the website, you have to put the end date before 9/15/16 to get it to work. I bought my a week ago but DS &DLI bought there's last night. Our trip is for 13-21. Hope that helps.

In my post above, I meant to say 9/15/16, not 9/25/2016. (Silly typo!) But still this morning, it wouldn't let me purchase online for any dates today-9/14/2016. Any date I selected came up with "No availability for this date."

Are you sure LMT is still selling the tickets?? I'm on their website and when I enter in any dates, even for dates before 9/15, it's showing zero availability :(

Yes, LMT Club is selling them. Are you checking LMTClub or LMT? The nonmembership section doesn't appear to have them but the Club section does.

It's weird, this morning LMTClub wasn't showing them (I was logged into my account and everything) but when I checked about an hour ago again just to see (since I already ordered my tickets over the phone), they were there again. Must have been a weird glitch or maybe just a rush of people buying them at once? Who knows! But I'm glad I got to get them!! :worship:

I called LMT and when I said I was unsure if it was worth the money, I was given a free 1 year membership! Their member prices are the lowest I've found and my Credit Union has a pretty good deal going.

The rep at LMT said they were not aware of the discontinuance of discounts. I'm going to order my tix right away anyway.

FWIW, my credit union had no idea of the discounts stopping. At least the person I spoke to didn't and there's nothing on the member discounts page.

Nice, I didn't know this. Do you get them from your local hall?

My union goes through Recreation Connection for online sales. It essentially routes you to a website that allows you to purchase the discounted tickets directly from Universal, but with union discount prices. It probably depends on the partnerships and benefits your individual union offers though.

So my fiancée and I just got back last week and now I'm already planning to go again with my family in February 2017.

Are we certain that LMT Club tickets purchased now are valid through 2017?

I'd love to jump on the discount train before it goes the way of the Disneyland Railroad...

Will Disney be only selling full price tickets after that date listed? Are the full price tickets that are bought in park more expensive? How much more expensive?

The assumption is that third party ticket discounts are all going away, but of course Disney is saying nothing. As far as Disney discounting tickets directly, they do have 'offers' from time to time but nothing on a regular basis. The 'gate price' and the 'online price' direct from Disney are the same, at least as of right now. What happens after the 15th is anyone's guess.

I just bought some for December and I swear I read somewhere that they were good through 12/2017 but I can't find the verbiage anywhere on the emails, but maybe it was on their website. I haven't got the e-tix yet. I'd call them if I were you.

I just checked the ones I bought from LMTClub for our trip in a few weeks and they say "Valid through January 13, 2018" and later on it says that the first day o use must be on or before December 31, 2017.

I usually use The Employee Network for Parkhoppers and they have the same announcement on their page. Too bad about that.

Quick question about The Employee Network tickets. A friend of mine has this and said he could get tickets for me, but he's never used it and I'm curious as to whether you have to show a membership card or anything when you get to the gate. He said that it goes directly to the DL ticket website, so I'm guessing no. But I don't want to buy them and then not be able to use them when we get there since he won't be with us. Thanks!

No you dont show anything when you get to the gate as far as membership card goes. Just print out the ticket and you're good to go.

Yup - mine too....

"The first day of use must be on or before December 31, 2017. Tickets expire 13 days after first use or on January 13, 2018
whichever occurs first." also

"Eligible for upgrade to any Annual Passport as long as upgrade occurs on or before the last valid day of ticket usage."

But my new question......can you redeem these (from LMT) at the Hotel if you are staying on site. I know early in the thread they said just to take them to the turn-style but that got me wondering if the Hotel would exchange them?

If I remember correctly, yes.

Just wanted to add that I ordered my tickets from LMT on August 30th at 9:45 am ET and got the actual tickets at 2:54 pm ET today! Woo hoo!! Thank you soooooo much to everyone on these boards for letting me know about this amazing money saving option!! My tickets also say first use must be on or before December 31, 2017, so if anyone was planning on buying discount tickets for 2017 travel, I'd definitely do it before 9/15 just in case!!
